Hi all, i closed the screen of my G73 and tossed it in my pack, brought it home and left it in the pack on my floor overnight. i noticed it never went into hibernation and ran its battery out. I plugged it in and turned it on but the screen stays black and accesses the Hdd for a few seconds then stops. FAns are running and led on the screen are on, but the keyboard backlight is off (will light up for 3 seconds if i hold ctrl/alt/del).

I have tried hard reboots, and pulling the battery but same problem :(

Try utilizing the reset button on the bottom. Press it in when you turn it on, iirc. I never had to use it, and I'm sure someone can chime in on the proper procedure.

It sounds like it's not "sleep" that's the issue, if you've removed the battery and AC power it would not be sleeping anymore. Instead it sounds like you have a hardware problem, try reseating your RAM as a start, it's right under the bottom access panel.

If its not the ram... I dunno, maybe try shaking it a little and see if you can hear something. Something could be loose.
