ok, i'm submitting this for a friend of mine. He has a g73sw [refurb] he ordered from newegg on September 3rd 2011. Yesterday, when he starts his system, you can hear it boot, you can hear windows start and everything. His system however has no video. The screen is just black, no picture, no nothing. Yes he tried external monitors, both HDMI and VGA, but to no avail.

In class, he finally got it to boot, and it ran fine, he tried to run some video testing software, along with a memory test, and the whole system locked up, when he shut it down and tried to start it back up, it was back to the same problem.

Now here's my question. I'm pretty sure it's the video card. Does anyone have any idea how much ASUS would charge to replace his card out of warranty. Or does anyone know if newegg or ASUS would be willing to help him out since he's a little over a month on his warranty coverage? He didn't know it was a refurb, his dad ordered it for him as a graduation gift, and he didn't realize it. Any help with this at all, or suggestions on ways to fix it are all very much appreciated, thanks a ton everyone.
