    Any news yet? :|

Anyone else is having trouble with sleep/hibernate? every time I wake/resume my laptop, the mouse begins to get stuck, then the keyboard stops responding and finally the machine completely freezes... I need to push the power button for like 5 secs to turn it off and when it boots again, everything runs great...

    No virus, no HDD probs...

Update: I have a working BIOS that allows the numpad keys to map properly to Numpad, as can be seen here in Dragon Age II:

Now I am just awaiting permission to post it. :)

I have just tested the Tigerdirect version, with a 500GB HD and a Blu-ray player + DVD/CD reader/writer. Previously I had tried the Amazon version, with a 750GB HD and only a DVD reader/writer -- they are the same price, but I wanted a blu-ray player, so I bought the Tigerdirect version...

The PC no longer locks up in sleep mode now. :)

I am currently testing Dragon Age 2 with DX 11 to see if the crashing persists.

Edit: Nope, still crashes after a while. Ugh.

Edit 2: Seems OK now.... I changed anti-alias to 4x.... uhh, IDK.

Chastity, does the BIOS you're using turn the Calc button into a Numlock for toggleability, or just permanently switch everything over to numpad?

I'm awaiting the final version, but from what I've seen it's a permanent switch from a copy of the numeric keys to a "Numpad" numeric keys, which will fix the keymappings in games

Chastity, I recently bought the ASUS X5QSF and this laptop has got exactly the same problem. Will the BIOS update also work on the X5QSF?

Is that 'ist' supposed to be is or isn't? ;)
If it is bad, will there be an update for the X5QSF as well?

    Thanks in advance

I have purchased an ASUS X5QSF as well, and have the same problem too.

I have a question though: If the problem is software-located, isn't there some kind of program that can be used temporary to solve the problem?

You can try updating to ATK 1.0.000010. It fixed my initial issues on my G74, tho not everyone had success.

I just received my G74SX and had the same problem with the number pad. Keys work as if the numlock is off and there is no numlock key. After much searching, I found a hard-to-find FAQ on the ASUS website that suggested clicking the "fn" and "delete/insert" keys. This turned on the number pad for me! I know this is late for some of you but hope it helps others.

Does you're indicator light next to the cap locks turn on/off also? This method does not work on my G74 with bios 203, however I can turn off the number lock using an external keyboard but the light remains on. But when I press the cap lock button the number lock comes back on for some reason. I have not found any key combination to turn on/off the number lock.

    On another note....
I now have 11 keys on my keyboard that don't register when pressed (unless I smash them) and two back-lights not working. I contacted Asus for a repair ticket to replace my keyboard under warranty. Now just waiting on the keyboard to arrive so I can have it swapped out at my local Asus service center here in the Philippines. Hope this new keyboard works better!!
