C4RN1 Referred me to this forum. I am in need of some help.

I purchased this unit through private sale, the previous owner had set a master bios password, a bios user password, and a HDD master password. they could remember the user password and the HDD master password but could not remember the bios master password. now i am aware that this unit as a bios rescue password ability, and i have tried the the date rollback in windows with no success, ie set the time back to 1-2-2002 then shutdown and restart, hit del/f2 ( for me f2 ) hit Alt-r to pull up rescue password box ( which has no date indicator ) and type in ALAA4ABA. My bios seems to not wanna roll back any further than than 2005.

i am needing to know if there is any other tricks to get into the bios and remove the bios master password, or a updated Bios rescue password trick,

    TIA

Yes the updated Rescue password that worked for my G74SX is

    Date: 12-31-2007

    Password: LAOLDOA0

Adjust your date in windows to the date above.

    Shutdown System

Power System on and hit your bios access key e.g. Esc/F1/F2/Del key, Mine was F2

When it asks for the password to enter bios Hit ALT-R to bring up the rescue password box.

Enter the password above and press ENTER Key.

Will load bios as a admin and give you access to everything.
