Alright, so I've had my Asus G74sx for about over half a year now and I'm loving it. It's such an upgrade to the 73. (No GSOD, touch pad is a bit less bad, spread out keyboard, nvidia card) But I have a couple questions.

    1. My enter key recently broke and fell off. Where can I find a replacement keyboard and how hard is it to replace? Also, can you modify them to glow different colors than white?

    2. Is there anyway to upgrade the CPU or overclock it? It doesn't have the greatest of power.

Yea ive been having trouble getting an answer to my question too... :/ you'd think it'd be pretty fast around here!

As for 1. Call/chat asus support, they might be able to get one out to you/give you a solution.

    2. IMO, you shouldnt need to OC at all, b/c one intel has the automatic Speedstep built into the new i series processors, which automatically clocks the processor at a higher or lower speed depending on what your system needs. You have a really new processor, so theres not much need, and if you did, you wouldnt notice much of an improvement. Unless youre encoding video or something. Now if youre a gamer, you can overclock your GPU with MSI afterburned, and youll get some results depending on the game.

    GL!

If you haven't contacted Asus technical support about this yet, there might be another solution.
Typically with the Asus keyboards, if keys fall off Asus will require that the laptop is sent in for repairs. If your laptop is not registered with accidental damage protection (ADP) which only covers the first year of your laptop, you will have to pay to have it sent in for the repairs.

Another alternative I have seen mentioned here before is to try this website Laptop Keys Replacement | Keyboard Keys | Free Video Guides
I'm not sure if this is another solution but you can give it a try and post here if that was a better alternative to having it sent in.

For the colors on your keyboard, XoticPC offered that on some Asus models but I don't think they will reveal their secrets or what would be involved to change it (if it is a hardware thing or something in the BIOS, etc.).
Aside from that, you are stuck with white unless there is a forum thread here where someone was able to do it themselves.

If your laptop is no longer under warranty, you can upgrade the CPU but it is difficult as it requires complete disassembly of the laptop to get to the CPU. Just be sure that you pick up a Sandy Bridge CPU, Ivy Bridge will not work on these laptops.

I don't believe you can OC the processor unless you have the XM (Intel Extreme) CPU and you still may be limited by the BIOS on that.
