    Asus G74sx Secondary HDD disappear

    hello ppl i really need help here i just bought a g78sx about month ago every thing works perfect but after 2 weeks of use my secondary hdd start dissapearing i run the hd tune pro i got and serioius message and it said i had to replace the hdd so thats why i contacted the guy i bought from ebay and they sent me the new hdd and i run a test on this new hd first day there were no error message or any thing but after 1 day of use i run the test again to see the health this time i see this message and also my hard drive is start dissapering again

    not: the first hard drive the message was highlighted in red in it was for spin up time but this time its calibration retry count first day was 1 and after 1 week of use the number jumped to 31 so is this problem related to the hdd again ? by the way i did reseat the cable as well didnt help.

    Could be:

    1) ribbon connections for the SATA port of 2nd HDD could need reseating
    2) ribbon port is bad
    3) the Samsung 1TB HDD needs a firmware update
    4) The Samsung does not like the ribbon port

    You can try swapping hdd ports and see if the issue goes away.

    If you need any additional help, I'd have to RMA it here for inspection, if you live in North America.
