Was thinking of picking up one from Microcenter since I have a $250 store credit. They had one with the GTX 870m for $1500. I have a 500GB EVO SSD that I plan to put in it and another 4GB ram to get it to 16GB. Anything else I should be aware of with the laptop?

Sounds like you got it covered. Which model is it exactly, the G750JS-DS71 is the one we offer with a 870M but already includes a SSD and HDD.

Its the G750JS-RS71. Only has the 750gb 7200rpm HDD but as I have been reading it should have the extra caddy right?

All the G7 series machines I have owned came with the hardware to mount a second drive even if it only came with a single drive out of the box so I doubt these are any different.

If its the exact same model it should have the exact same specs. But as Quadzilla mentioned it will have a mounting bracket for a second drive.
