It sports the G46 design and will be equipped with Haswell and also up to the Nvidia GTX 780M.

Weird naming of the model and the video and the narrator sounded a lil corny. Should have named it G76 instead of adding 0 after G75.
Only good news about it if it is true is the use of gtx 780m. -
The video is already made private, but was supposedly uploaded by the Australian ROG department. I have been waiting for the next generation G7x series for a while now (why choose G750, btw?), because my G71 is definitely in need of a replacement. I really hope, that they offer the 780m, that would be great, I would have no problem with shelling out a bit more, to get that kind of performance! So, how much do you guys think that version is going to cost?

The video is private but I extracted some frames from the video by doing some sneaky tricks to the youtube server...
Its real. Asus is finally ready to step in to the top league. GTX 780M coming to Asus. This is so awesome. GTX 780M completely crush everything thats out there:hi2:
For 780M benchmarks, see this thread: http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/718021-i-m-upgrading-you-gtx-780m-review-inside.htmlæ
BTW, GTX 670MX which Asus feature previously got NOTHING on GTX 780M. Its day and night difference. Everyone should upgrade.

Finally. Good news for Asus and for us, too!

Well, didn't get to see the video, but will be watching this closely... I LOVE the design of my G46... will be curious how this develops, especially if the 780m is an affordable option and properly cooled.
-
properly cooled = no doubt
affordable = keep dreaming with asus ^^ -
Quagmire LXIX Have Laptop, Will Travel!
Ahhhh, welcome back to top end gpu's Asus, we've missed you since the 5870m launch
-
Let's hope they put a great sound system on these up and coming g series machines.
-
There was tons of people who complained about Asus stupid choice to include GTX 670MX instead of 675MX, plus voiced our opinions about why Asus can`t include the top end GPUs and proudly boast the "republic of gamers" they cherish so much. I had a few discussions with Asus engineers at the Asus forums, but they couldn`t give me a straight answer to their strategy.
So I guess they might have listened to their fans this time around -
G750 with have GTX765M GTX770M and GTX780M, but GTX765M and 770M will be release first.
-
-
And any idea on how long we will have to wait for the one with the 780m? If they improve the sound quality (they own the xonar sound cards line for crying out loud), this may well be my dream machine. I love the brushed aluminium on the palmrest, it adds so much to the laptop!
Here are some pics, that I have found, great design!

They went with the design of the G46 which is in my opinion superior. Notice the keypad, that the 14" notebook has no room for.

Yep, that's what I'm excited to see about the G750... it looks just like a big G46, which I absolutely LOVE! It's an improvement across the board from the G73-75, and I liked those designs too. G46 is super solid and feels great... hoping the G750 follows suit.
Now it just comes down to price ha... we shall see. -
-
I'll put out mine as soon as it's announced.

im really glad asus is back in town, more competition and options? count me in
-
What size is this exactly? by naming it sound like 17, but then there is the 5 and then comment say it look like a G46.
-
It is a 17 inch laptop with a chassis built with design and material like the G46.
-
Have local store that is selling it....well taking in orders as it says the store will get it on the 04.06.2013.
Specs are:
ASUS Gaming G750JX-CV040H 17.3" FHD 3D 1920x1080 LED Backlight Glare, Intel Core i7-4700HQ, nVidia GTX770MX 3GB, 16GB DDR3, 1TB 7200 rpm +256GB SSD Cashe, Blu Ray Combo, WLAN 802.11b/g/n + Bluetooth 4.0, Win8 / Eng/Rus keyboard, 3D Glasses
Price: 1 849.00
Would be nice if they did it with the 780m. and proper MXM. Would sell my M17 in a heartbeat -
Someone said earlier, that the 780m version will come a bit later, so I'm waiting for that one. And preferably without the 3D screen, I hope that it's am option. So that will probably cost around 2000 euros? 150 eur extra for the GPU upgrade? And I hope that the SSD will really be 256 GB!
Sent from my XT890 using Tapatalk 2 -
More like 400-600 euro extra. Its strange here AW with 660m can get under 2000 euro but 680 and you are looking at about 2500 euro. But will have to wait for the asus´s 780m rig

This is going to be a huge fail if Asus decides to put buggy and crappy sound system on their heaviest and biggest gaming laptop. I mean other laptops that weighs half the G75 has better speaker and sound card and if Asus cheaps out again on the speaker and sound quality then Sigh....
So let's hope Asus smartens up and put great sound quality on the up and coming G750. If Alienware with Klispch and soundblaster recon can do it, if MSI with dynaaudio can do it, Asus should also do it and not use the excuse of because their laptops are more affordable and cheaper that means they would put low end crappy sound on their high end laptops. -
-
EDIT: The whole palmrest + around the keyboard looks like brushed aluminum. I`m impressed
Also look at the power button. Funky stuff -
WHOA I might seriously be going ASUS. For years I've said if they put a high-end GPU in a sleek design, I'd buy in an instant. Well they've called my bluff. Never thought I'd be able to say that. It's a really beautiful machine, and with a GTX 780M, oh my.
I post on a forum where just recently a ton of people have been lamenting there not being an aesthetically well designed laptop with powerful GPU option. They're going to go nuts over this news. If it's priced well, it'll be a hit.
Wow. The speakers can't suck though. -
-
Yeah it's true, I've been having to spend my laptop money on other things again and again. But I'm buying this year, for sure. Being a formerly staunch Clevo first guy, I'm just weighing all of the contenders for the first time. Clevo is falling behind the times and I may need to move on, so I have to find a good $2k home. I was pretty set on the next MSI GT70, until a few minutes ago.
-
Do you guys think that this laptop is going to be lighter than the current 17 inch ones? And do you think ASUS might make a G55 refresh?
-
But I also have my eye on this G750 just like you .) -
I wonder if they give the customer a choice of choosing not to have an optical drive?
I think ASUS does include a Thunderbolt port along with USB 3.0 ports correct?
I have to admit I have seen some decent options of the 17 inch + notebook on that Gentech site -
-
No 15 inch high-end graphics love?
-
Perhaps its the one located underneath the laptop? -
Tony: As you may have seen on the N and Zenbook series, these started the trend for large aluminum panels for every major face. This is now the design language and fashion across ASUS Design Team. We want to keep a consistent identity across ASUS products and have brand recognition because we take pride in all our designs.
This suggests, that it's indeed aluminium? But I have never seen a G46 in person, so I can't be sure. Can't wait for this laptop to come out!
Sent from my XT890 using Tapatalk 2 -
Also, it looks like aluminum to me, and on my g46 it is not plastic... the case is plastic but the keyboard panel is aluminum or an exact copy judging by feel and looks. -
So the G750 is initially going to be released with the 770M/MX? Personally I'd only consider buying the 780M version of this beast. If anyone has concrete dates and prices on the 780M version post it up! I will get rid of my G73 the second I know the price and release date of THAT version.
-
To quote Notebookcheck`s review of G46
From Asus interview:
I strongly suggest waiting for GTX 780M since its miles ahead of 770M. -
You can tell by the way it stains and how easy it is to clean whether it is indeed real brushed aluminum or plastic that just looks like brushed aluminum. My Lenovo has a brushed aluminum palmrest and palm sweat stains/streaks tend to sit there and are very difficult to remove. When I tried out the G46 at Best Buy I poked and prodded and got the impression that it was plastic. If that's true, they faked the look and feel really well. I could definitely see it fooling a lot of people.
-
Aluminium is not magnetic. Why would Asus go to all the trouble of faking aluminium, it's not THAT expensive? And it adds a LOT to the premium feel of a product. It would be quite a shame if they use some plastic instead. Okay, so I have until July to get my financial affairs in order! So I'm thinking the G750 with the 780m and a SSD, and preferably without the 3D screen, and some 5-year extended warranty (it's something a local dealer offers) will cost me around 2200-2500 euros. Not cheap, but damn, do I want it! If the sound turns out to be okay.
-
-
EDIT: reread previous posts, maybe the finish has you confused? It isn't just a brushed raw finish, it is anodized or something similar in black, and hasn't stained or discolored at all on my g46... maybe a nice topcoat or something was applied, no idea, but it's proven very durable and I'm sure G750 will be the same. It holds up WAY better than the palmrest of my previous G73. -

It's nice to see asus step up, if they get a nice balance of performance, quality and noise on this one it could make a good alternative.
-
Im looking forward to this model. Hope someone uploads the video as well
