Cpu is soldered so unless you have reworking station and bga cpu higher then existing one then no. As for gpu yes probably but only with one from higher g750 modells and probably not from g750jz as 880m is 110 watt and would need exclusive heatsink which again would not fit in smaller bottom chassis of g750jm.

Considering the difficulty in getting parts etc. you should consider the gpu not upgradable like the cpu.

Does anyone know if G750JM has a soldered GPU or MXM layout? coz I heard people saying the 4GB version is MXM while 2GB has soldered one

It's an mxm connector but custom pcb shape. It's not as tall but much wider.

So I assume if Asus sticks with this kind of layout (if I recall the MXM layout since G75 series are similar) we could easily upgrade to newer Asus custom card (perhaps GTX 9x0M)?

sl0519, it's every new ROG laptop's owners hope, that you can upgrade - but, ya can't.

Asus makes each model just that much different, the low end model doesn't have the room and power delivery the next model up has, and between the mid level and top end, it's usually even worse.

And, MXM isn't so much a compatible upgrade standard for Asus as it is a convenient method for servicing GPU issues. Each MXM card is unique to the model in some way.

The best upgrade is to take care of your Asus laptop, sell it on to some deserving person, and buy a new one with the proceeds + upgrade $.

Works the same, less hassle and fiddling :)

That and I believe the vbios is integrated into the system bios.
