    Hello people,

Ive recently baught a asus gl553VW laptop. i baught this without HDD and i know now the reason why!

If u push the power button everything works fine, the computer boots and u can get into bios without any problems!
I can also boot from my USB ( windows 10 image ) but as soon the windows starts installing the laptop shuts down. Ive inspected the motherboard and measured normale voltages al over the place, i also cannot see any broken mosfets or whatsoever. Fan spins and the thermal paste ive repasted. so its not a temperature issue.
Ive resetted the bios and did many various things but it just wants to shutdown on windows installation.
ive made a video about how it goes and wil link it below ! Any help wud be greatly appriciated.

I think myself that theres a problem with the cpu but im not sure! Hope that somebody can point me in the right direction.

Are you sure that it's not a temperature issue? Maybe the heatpipe had been damaged and is not doing its job despite the fact that you've repasted and the fan is spinning?
Once you enter BIOS you can see the temperature and fan speed - what are they?

I don't see how this could be a CPU issue myself.

This notebook should have a M.2 port as well - I wonder if it would install windows on a drive in that port instead of a SATA one. (I assume that you are using the SATA drive - can't see that on the youtube clip)

Hi supermod, thanks for ur respond!
in the bios i cant see any fanspeed nor temperatur im afraid.
i dont see any visual damages on the heatpipe itself.
ive tried different ram and also try loading from the m.2 slot but no succes.

can it not be a component failing on the mainbord some power management? thanks !

I don't know how is it possible. Once you enter BIOS setup there should be a hardware monitor section at the bottom left of the screen.

I am on the GL553 too, and the BIOS does not look like yours. You may need to update the BIOS as it seems the current one is very old.

Ahhhh, I get them mixed up. I am on a GL502, not the GL553. A family member has a GL553. My GL502 has the same basic BIOS as yours, but my family member who has the GL553 like you has the other BIOS. Person with the GL553 has the slightly newer variant (a GL553VD with a GTX 1050 and 7700hq,) but the BIOS's should be the same as both the GL553VW and VS are very, very similar.

EDIT: I am wrong again. The VW only goes up to BIOS version 306 (same as my GL502,) while the VD goes up to 308. I'm guessing the 308 BIOS is when ASUS made it a lot newer looking and added new features.
