I just received my 752VW with a stock 1 tb hd, and I replaced the HDD with my Samsung 830 256gb Ssd, with the intention of "downgrading" to windows 7 pro from a bootable Usb, which I've used successfully numerous times in the past. Main Issue is that as soon as I start up the computer, i get thrown into the Bios screen.. The ssd isn't really being recognized, albeit i can find it under Sata as the 3rd drive, behind the 1st drive which is the Dvd-Rw (no 2nd drive). I know this must seem so simple and noobish, but I'm really lost cause i can't get the bios to recognize my ssd properly, and begin installing Win 7 Pro on it.. Perhaps i'm missing the obvious, but i can only get into windows right now on this laptop by using the crappy Windows 10 slow Hdd, which is what i'm typing on right now.

    Any Help is greatly appreciated!

Have you also turned off UEFI mode?
You can't install Win7 without turning off UEFI mode and enable CSM mode.

That may very well have been the problem. I noticed that enabling CSM mode was greyed out, and i had no idea how to get it enabled, so perhaps your suggestion of turning off UEFI would have worked. That being said i don't know how to do that, albeit with the tip now perhaps i'd be able to discover how.

Ultimately i just "solved" my problem within the past hour by giving up on my windows 7 pro copy, and deciding to try and see if installing windows 10 on my Usb would do the trick. It ended up finally working, albeit i was forced to wipe out my partitions and the data that was on them.. Luckily i anticipated that i would bungle things, so i backed up most things just prior.

Still your answer is good for future users who have trouble switching in an SSD to "downgrade" from Windows 10 to Windows 7 variants. Much appreciated, next gaming laptop i buy you will be the reseller i look at since I've seen your helpful posts for years now (my 2 gaming laptops, both asus, an ivy bridge and now it's newer brother the skylake gl752vw, were bought by Best Buy and now Newegg respectively, but your great customer service makes it worthwhile to shell out potentially a few more $)!

Yes, in general it seems to be very difficult to go back to windows 7, somehow I don't see this as an accident.

Ask Svet and see if he can assist you on this issue.
A locked BIOS option can be unlocked if someone like Svet can figure it out.

Does Svet work on other manufacturers machines? I thought he kept to MSI.

Yes, that's correct, but perhaps he can see the similarity becuse ASUS uses AMI too.

Can't hurt asking I guess since it is AMI, good point.

The ASUS GL752xx M.2 2280 slot connector requires PCIex4 (such as the SAMSUNG 950 PRO MVMe). If you look closely... the SSD connector/slot only has a 4 pin connector on the "M" leg... that mPCIeX4... unlike the more common NGFF (Next Generation Form Factor) such as AHCI. Unfortunately, PCIeX4 SD ca are a lot more expensive... t generally much higher IO performance.

Well yes, to install Windows 7 UEFI you have to start with a 7 SP 1, SP1 does support UEFI/GPT, Then then the Win 7 SP1 ISO needs to be booted UEFI. Once you fill in the language part of the install hit the Shift F10 might be Alt F10 one or the other will bring up a Command Prompt for where you can run Diskpart, Use Disk part to clean your Samsung 830 and then convert to GPT, then continue the install
