    Hi,

I've got a ROG about two weeks ago, and it works amazingly well so far. It does, however, make a single, weird, clank/metallic sound a few seconds after booting,

It doesn't make this sound everytime (only when I first boot it up in a given day, and not always), and after that the laptop makes no "weird" sounds.

Is this normal? Any reason for concern?

I think it might be the DVD Drive stepper motor. It is trying to read disc even if there aren't any. My Clevo D901C does that every time it boots up, it sounds like it's reloading a weapon.

Yes some optical drives can make an almost floppy drive like sound at start up.
