What bios did you flash? Did it complete normally? Do you get any signs of life from the machine at all when you press the button?
From the sounds of it you either flashed the wrong bios or it got corrupted. -
I did use the normal 205 on Asus website. But I had it on an NTFS formated disk. Could it be bricked?
I dont really get any signs at all. I tried removing everything cept the CMOS battery. -
Remove CMOS battery should help,
I have the same issue i installed motherboard and put everything togther noticed my RAM was dead, Bought new RAM it booted up then gpu goes to 100c+ after 2 mins boot up then shuts down, Now with or without the gpu in, It doesn't turn on at all! all i get is as soon as i plug in the AC into the socket the fans spin for half a second and pressing the on/off button nothing happens, has my GPU burnt out and took out the NEW motherboard with it?? Sorry for hijacking but i can make a new thread yet. -
The Asus G series laptops don't have a CMOS battery. They have a BIOS battery, but you can't remove it as it has been soldered in place and heat shrink wrapping has been placed around it to secure the battery to the terminal.
I too have the same issue, flashed the bios to update it and, now nothing. I lost the bleeps, the sweeps, and the bloops. I used the windows utility from the asus website along with the 223 bios update for my g75vw, and after it erased the BIOS, it froze. Nothing worked, no mouse, key stroke, the power key. Nothing. I was forced to unplug the A/C and the battery. Then when I tried the power bleed method (hold down the power button for up to 1 minute) I plugged everything back in and then nothing. I stared at a power locked, completely bricked system.
I scoured the internet looking for some glimmer of hope, and to no avail ended up having to call Asus. According to them, there is no motherboard or BIOS reset switch in their notebooks (at least in the higher end models. Read: All ROG rigs.) And you have to ship it to Cali to get worked on.
I then stumbled across the actual manual in PDF form, and in the appendix they give you a very simple flowchart to troubleshoot the system. Apparently, this very vague FC states that there is a possible problem with the MB, the HDD, or the NB and to visit you local repair Asus location. Which is no where near me. From what I understand, even though there are no burn marks on my MB its fried. Which to replace and install on my own is 300. I haven't sent it to the warehouse yet because I want to see if there is a way to fix it before I send it out. So I was hoping that with this thread being made and someone else with the same problem perhaps we can all figure out how to make this work again. I am letting the battery die in my G75VW and hoping that I can get it to force charge, but I doubt it. If I can just get it to boot or turn on I can reinstall the bios and get everything working again.
If anyone has any ideas, or the same issue and figured a way around it, please let us know!!! I need my computer back! ITS TO YOUNG TO DIE!!!!! -

Well the brute force method would be remove the chip and manually program it.
-
Also, when using the winflash utility, it should advise to do a fresh boot of the machine, then disable the antivirus software before flashing. Never had a failed flash after doing that.
Is it still under warranty? If so you should send it back, and get them to fix it for you. If you are more capable than me, you could buy a replacement BIOS chip off Ebay and solder it on (or get a local computer shop to do the soldering for you). -
But even if I get the replacement bios chip, will it fix the problem of 'push the power button and nothing happens'?
Sadly no my warranty expired and they are going to charge me to fix it but if the bios chip can be replaced and it will work then I will explore that Avenue. -

If nothing happens at all that is a bad sign. The system should at least do something even if it immediately turns off.

hello xaeroll, welcome to NBR.
Im not shor were you got your motherbord from but all the asus g73 motherbord models that i have seen do have a battery. its not soldered or shrink wrapped. there is a simple clip holding it in but it will not help you if you have corruped bios. removing it will not reset bios in that sence. just incase anyone has this problem with a g73jh or g73jw model there is a reset butten that can be accesed by a pin hole on the base of the laptop. if you were to dissasemble the g73jh or g73jw you will see that the wifi antena leads run just past this little "reset" button. there is tape that is ment to hold the wifi wires in place but if the tape comes off the wifi wires can move around a little bit in the case and can move ontop of this little button and cause the laptop to reset with out warning if you put presher on the case or pressed hard on the keybord above the little reset button. i speek from experence on this one. i could not figger out what was wrong as everytime i disasembled the laptop it would work fine the i would re assemble it and it would just keep reseting the laptop thats when i pulled the whole thing apart yet agane found the little button... i hadnet even know it was there and i have owned a number of diffrent g73's over the years.
my current asus g73sw i have currped the bios by turning on the "POST sound" in BIOS and clicking on save. the screen went black and now i just get lights "TAB, CAP'S" on . if i leave it on the fan's apear to work normaly but no post and cant do anything just a black screen. i had herd of this happining with "ASUS FANCE START" but not with any other bios settings tho i was looking around the bios and may have turnt fance start on. oh well no bother I have orded a new bios chip from ebay seller in the netherlands so im shor i will have it back up and running in no time .
its not to hard to desolder and resolder the bios chip, so just buy a cheap soldering iron and a new bios chip and have a go. tho take you time and dont rush if you havent solded watch some youtube how to solder clips and pratice on somthing other than your motherbord first .... like any old chep electronic device.
good luck. -

Or a local repair shop will usually do a solder job for not too much.

I bricked my G73sw when updating my bios with a USB 3 port AND NTFS flash drive doh! I ordered a bios from ebay, I'm hoping to find a guy who would solder it for me. Any idea how much he should charge me? When I plug the laptop in the indicator lights in front of the laptop doesn't even light up anymore.... Man... why did I even do that?
is there a tutorial how to solder the g73sw? -

Depends on if he has to strip down the machine.
-
i would remove the mobo myself and then bring it to the solder guy to do it for me. Right now Asus wants 780 CAD with taxes to install a new mobo and labor. I'm going to take it back and say screw this and just attempt to solder the bios somehow. Does the g73sw have a firmware chip and a bios chip or is it just the bios i have to worry about?
such greedy techs i can't believe they simply can't reflash the bios or attempt to solder it themselves. -

Not much if you are presenting it stripped, 30 pounds is the going rate in the UK for it.
It should just be all in the bios chip.
