    Hello everyone here!

I have Asus ROG GL552VX-DM272T, Motherboard chipset: Intel HM170
i am planning to buy ssd m.2 for him, YES i have free slot, but problem is... What maximum GB can support my model ? 256?512, or 1TB?etc.

In the back is a label : M.2 2280 SLOT SUPPORT SATA SSD ONLY,
i understand, but dont know max capacity, and is cappable also for 2280SS type?

i tried, website http://www.crucial.com/usa/en/advisor for compatible upgrade for specific models. there shows me a SS types crucials ssd models, and another side, without SS type.

or this is also option, what i found.. type of ssd is : Samsung 850 EVO M.2 500GB

please help me. or post me link thank you very much.

Basically, you need to make sure that it's M.2 2280 in size and SATA 3 in interface. As for capacity, I think even 1TB should work fine.

Thx for reply, but I have one more question.

,,PCIe and SATA M.2 drives have different controllers; whereas the PCIe is the faster of the two, the SATA will generally be compatible with a wider variety of systems. If a system has a M.2 PCIe slot, an M.2 SATA SSD will not work in this computer, it will fit in the slot, but it will not work. There are some system that are dual typed, and will accept both SATA, and PCIe, but they are not the norm. Crucial M.2 SSDs at this time are only manufactured in the SATA type."

where I can find out which one I have? PCIe or SATA, or dual typed? thx

You have written in your opening post that your laptop is SATA 3-based, have you not?
