    Hello

A friend of mine has managed to kill windows on his new G751JM that he got yesterday..... :(

Is there a recovery partition that he can get into to reinstall windows 8.1 Pro, back to the original state as in format the current hard drive (that is now virus infected), and put the machine back to the state it was in before he infected it??

I know on some of my other machined there was always a recovery partition you could boot into and do the "restore to Factory default..." thing and you got a fresh pc again..

Does this still exist on this PC?

    Thanks in advanced..

There should be instructions in the literature.

Either F9 on boot or following the recovery instructions when windows goes into recovery mode.

Be aware viruses can go after recovery partitions so double check after you have restored it.

You can also use Backtracer to restore it, but if not possible then order the recovery discs from ASUS directly.

Yes if it were me personally I would get the discs from Asus and nuke the disk to be sure.
