I don't know what happens but my screen has been flickering a lot for the last two days. Every time I turn it on, it would starts to flicker for about a min or so to the point it goes black and then gets normal again. The first time it happened, i was scared so i just shut down my laptop right away and turn i back on and nothing happened. I thought I got virus so I scanned my laptop but nothing. It just happened again today. I don't know why it is starting to do this. Does anybody experience anything like this? Does it have anything to do with the lcd screen or the gpu?

yes i did the same thing as you did when it happened the second time. i picked up my laptop and then moved it and then it stopped. but i don't think that's way to solve it. it could've been a coincident. i think something is wrong here. cuz i was doing research on google and found others have this problem too. so i wonder if anybody has found a resolve for this issue.

Maybe, but I dont think it is a coincidence perhaps there is a misplaced video cable that moves when the screen is in a certain position. BTw Do you hear a sound from your ac adapter, cause I have that problem too, maybe it is another symptom or cause of the problem.?

no i don't hear anything from my ac adapter. you know what i did after it happened the second time? i actually took out my battery and then uninstall my old gpu driver and install a new driver. it doesn't seem to flicker today though. i don't know if those two things i did solve any thing at all but i'm gonna wait and see if the issue comes back.

I've had similar problems with my G50v, but with pink vertical lines, or a blue shadow around text. Disappears when I move the screen, sometimes returning shortly after, other time disappearing for several months before it popped up again. I agree that it seems like it might be something with the video cable, don't know why moving the screen would have that effect otherwise. Sent it in for service, so we'll see what gets replaced and if it pops up again after that.

Im using the X5 and having strange screen issues. There is a ghost image about 10cm down from original image and it will flicker back and forth between the two, sometimes displaying both. I feel as though this is an issue with the LCD rather than the GPU, since I get a bit of response when tapping the edges of the screen. Thats just a guess though, and the problem is intermittent but is beginning to occur more often.

Hope this GPU doesnt crap out on me like on my piece of Asus F3sv i paid $1800 for (8600GS). They replaced that pile of junk with this cheaper pile of junk, made me pay them extra for a refurbished machine, and im having problems 5 months down the line. They gave me a 3month warranty....figures. If this GPU doesnt last me one year, I will use it to trash the asus tech center in markham. Perhaps asus should just stick with desktop MBs, disappointing.
