Over the past year, the gpu never passed the 85C.
Suddenly, after I installed nvidia's new drivers, it passes even 100C!
What should I do? I deleted those drivers and I still have the same results...
(Btw, according to GPU-Z, the VDDC is 0.9700V all the time if it means something.)

    Thanks.

Not 0.962? GTX 460M comes with 3 settings, 0.8125, 0.9125, 0.962. 0.962 isn't accessible unless you mod the vbios. Is it really shown 0.97 on the GPU-Z?

    Right now its 0.8200.
    Here you go, 0.9700:

    Well?

Are you using a custom vbios?

The extra voltage is likely causing the heat..

Agreed. Stating the obvious, but when voltage goes up, so does your temps.

Also, how frequently do you blow the dust out of your system?

No, I have the basic one, I just checked:Bios ver. 203

    I clean every 2 months.

Maybe I'll try to reinstall the bios again?

After installing 314.22, my G53JW's voltages are identical to yours. Idle VDDC is 0.8200 and max VDDC seems 0.9700. There is an increasement as 301.42 would set them a bit lower than 314.22. I'm not sure why Nvidia doing this to us.

Reported to Nvidia forums but no help as expected. The weird part is GTX 460M runs a bit less stable when it's idling at 0.8120 and maxed at 0.9620.

With 314.22, the values are now identical to WaffleBoy. There is 0.008v raise.

Hope there's nothing to worry? I'm not sure :(

You could try editing the vbios to see if you can lower it.
