Hey I have a quick question I have had my g53sw for about 4 months and I have noticed minor rubberized paint peeling on the cover lid corners. I am a little worried as I have babied the laptop would this be covered under warranty or accidental protection? Could it be replaced or is it a common problem it's not major peeling and I have to look hard but still I paid 749.99 for it a while back so I expect top notch build quality.

Guess I'm the only one with this problem lol

Well, that paint will start to chip at the corners due to normal wear and tear, i mean after over a year and a half, mine does too. I can't remember if it did so 4 months after i got the laptop. If you carry the laptop with you often, this will happen more quickly.

Do your problem look like this ?

    ImageShack Album - 3 images

I got the same thing after only 2-3 travels ... Do you use the Asus Bag that comes with the laptop ? I'm pretty sure that this bag destroy my laptop ..

Same case as you , don't want to wait like 4-8 week to get a new paint on my laptop ...

BTW , alienware are way more resistant , my M11X is always with me and is brand new ...

Asus , 2 moves ultra protected : used.

Alienware , +500 moves in a normal bag : brand new.

    ...

Another element that adds on the long list that " why is Alienware 500€ more for the exact same configuration " ... Look , keyboard , resistance etc.. etc ..
