Hello everybody. This is my first gaming laptop the Asus g53sx (Yeah I know its 2 years old but its what was given as a gift to me but still I am grateful) and I just opened it and I want to charge it. Anyway, how many hours is the INITIAL/FIRST time charging should be? I would really appreciate your help guys. Thanks!

Also since this laptop is 2010, should I use the 2 Driver cd's Driver and utility version 2.0 and version 1 that comes with the box? Or should I completely ignore it and go straight to asus website and download the latest drivers?

asus live update will take care of most things for you... i always used the most recent drivers off the nvidia website for my GPU

Just start charging it until it shows full?

Pretty much all notebooks nowadays stop charging automatically when the battery reaches full capacity.

As others in these forums have stated, Asus Live Update is not really recommended by any means.

I would strongly suggest going directly to the Asus website for support and downloading the latest drivers manually. The Asus website seems to be a bit more reliable. ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download G53SX

OP may also want to try the drivers from the Asus website first to make sure that everything works properly before downloading the latest nVidia drivers.
When installing the nVidia drivers, be sure to select the Custom installation and check the box to "Perform a Clean Installation". ;)

I'll say it again because it needs to be said, do not use ALU, even Asus acknowledged it wasn't very good. Get your drivers from Asus' website and get the video drivers directly from nVidia's website.
