    Hey guys,

My brand new Asus g53sx-xt1 came in today. It turns on and the keyboard lights up, but the screen remains black. I managed to get the screen to turn on once, but ever since I turned it off, I haven't been able to get the screen to turn on again. Any suggestions or RMA?

apparently i have the same problem. before this i had a problem where when it starts up the window screen turns to green and after booting my window has some weird lines. according to my friend, it should be a loose lcd cable. then one fine day, my screen would not turn on when i start my laptop and apparently i can hear my window starting up. everything else works, hot keys etc but no screen. like u, i managed to turn it on after 'twisting' my screen around lol but that was about it. now no matter how i try it wont turn on. the weird part is it won't even connect with an external display. could it be the new batch's problem?
    by the way these are my specs : ASUS RoG G53SX-IX042V | i7 2670QM-2.2GHz | 16GB DDR3 ram | 640GB HDD 5400rpm | NV GTX 560M 2GB DDR5 128 bit

There were bad batches of G73s at newegg at one time. The same might have happened with the G53SX, i would try to get a replacement unit form where you ordered.

Definitely would want to try a return on that one. We have seen certain batches that have been bad (although it has been a while). Generally, Newegg is good about exchanging those out within their return period.
