LOL you posted on the weekend, with a question who's answer is easily located elsewhere. Of course no one wants to help out - It seems you don't even really want to look for the answer!

So, 1st off - the windows control panel takes information from the chip. It will say "Atom 1.6ghz" all the time, if you've got a 1.6 ghz atom, no matter how high it is overclocked.

Second, the bios can't tell you what's going on in windows, because if you're in the bios, you're not in windows.

3rd, CPU-z will show the current clock speed. if it isn't locked in at 2.5, it'll downclock when not under load. You need to look at that value when running super-pi or something else that stresses the CPU. Also, you have to buy set-fsb these days, to get it to work right, IIRC.

Thanks for being so "patient" and "understanding". Asking for help, then coming back a day later (on the weekend, no less) demanding that someone solve your problems is *NOT* a life skill. Don't do it.

I dont think that windows shows the increase for anybody on this laptop. Im running mine like a scalded cat and still see 2.66 even though im at 3.1 so i dunno CPU-Z Validator 3.1
