I've owned an Asus g60vx laptop since its release, think about 5 years ago. Recently the backspace key, p key, and most of the number keys have stopped working. I can get them to work after repeatedly pressing the button for like a minute straight, but it's pretty much impossible to type anything without getting frustrated.

I recently reset the laptop to factory settings, which didn't help at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a fix besides possibly replacing the keyboard part(if they sell them) or whole laptop itself?

    Thanks in advance.

It's a hardware malfunction. It sounds like the key matrix is faulty, or perhaps the individual keys are not making good contact and the circuits are not registering.

Whatever the actual case is, the keyboard will likely need replaced. There's a small possibility that only the data cable needs reseated, but it's unlikely that doing so would fix it.
