Hey guys, I didn't do a survey of the forums for info, instead I am posting directly, so I might be asking some questions that are already answered.
    xd

I am kind of a noob and so I need some help with my asus g60vx.

First, i need to know if i should enable or disable "Intel VT-d" and/or ""DTS -based Thermal Management" from bios.

I noticed that at first glance, everything runs way smoother without them being enabled.

I am having problems with my GPU temperature, like everyone else has on this notebook.

I didn't replace my fake speaker hole yet, but I will do it if it is necessary to keep the THING cool.

I am playing World of Warcraft and other stuff, and my fps sucks big time, even on next to last worst settings in Wow. I am thinking that it's because of the overheating. Sometimes my left side of the keyboard feels like boiling.

The fps doesn't suck all the time, it has spikes that come and go. Also, if I watch a flash video on the internet and leave without exiting full screen, the GPU gets heated as hell.

It never restarted or something though.

    Thanks

I monitored and my GPU's temperature is about 80 - 100 degrees C at all times. I enabled DTS based thermal management.

I want to know if I should let it run at this temperature or do something about it. Thanks. Btw, I did that mod on the cooler. This temperature is with the mod. xd

Maybe there is some way to make the fan run differently. Maybe set the temperatures lower. I don't know, please help.

    Thanks

No one is answering, because no one has the answer you're looking for, yet. If you start trolling, your trolling posts will only be deleted and it will only incite people who may have the answer to your question to ignore it.

You should start by listing your CPU and GPU temperatures that will help determine if the issue is overheating.

Like, I posted my GPU temp. Check the posts.

At the moment I have my g60vx taken apart in a corner. I am repasting cpu and gpu.

GPU temp ~80C while idle and ~105-110C while under stress. It is a lot.

    It never drops below 80.

I cleaned what I could though in the cooler airchannels it wasn't that much dust.

Also, these temperatures that I posted are with the fake speaker cut off. Check youtube >g60vx mod<

I'd guess degraded thermal paste then, missed your temps, sorry. You'll probably have to repaste the GPU, this will also allow you to remove the heatsink from the fan and take a toothbrush + canned air to it.

yeah, I will clean it all. I am still worried though.

I read around the web that normal temps for gtx260m are 50-60 C

above 75 is worrying already and I have 85 while idle, not even stressed.

Also, something beeps sometimes in the laptop. I don't know how to trigger it. It is apparently random.

I seems to happen when the HDD light is on and the sound seems to be the HDD needle interacting with the discs loudly, but I am rolling that HDD on an asus x51l right now and it hasn't beeped for about 2-3 hours.
