    Asus g60vx-headset mic wont work-getting very frustrated

    k im at the end of my rope here, ive done everything i can think of and nothings working.I bought a new headset today and cant get the computer the recognize the mic on it. When i look in the recording devices it shows nothing on the line in when i talk into the mic, the internal mic and the laptop works but whats the point in a 200$ headset if i cant use the mic!plz help i donno what to do!

    You should have a "Mic in at rear panel" in your record devices. Just in-case you plugged it into "Line in". Go to the properties and then levels of "Mic in at rear panel" and boost the levels. You might have had them too low.

    I just tried plugging in a set of ear plugs into the mic jack and it worked but was very quiet, but worked.

    You might want to also select "Configure" which will bring up the speech recognition window and click "Set up microphone".

    k i dont have a mic in at rear panel in the devices,how do i get it back?

    Try right-clicking inside the window while in the Recording tab. You should get 2 options-Show Disabled Devices and Show Disconnected devices- make sure their checked.

    k i did that and and i get a stereomix but that doesnt seem to helpthe situation
