i dont know exactly the full name of this issue im having but i just recently bought a Asus g73 about couple days ago and everyhing was great until today. Asus froze after playing Call of dulty 5 modern warefare 2 and i had to hard boot it to restart. after that Asus doesnt display anything and only shows those 3 LED's on top left adn the battery light and some blue light mini icon beside it. and i tried hard booting couple times. nothing changes it. i even switch the rams around and tried the 15 sec reset on the bottom of my laptop.

please help. nothing i tried worked.

Take all the RAM out and see what happens. Then place one chip at a time and try. Keep trying just a single chip until it boots. If you get it started keep adding chips until it fails.

Maybe dead but at least you'll eliminate all but the hidden sodimm as the probable cause.

    Cheers,

When the keyboard flashes can you press F2 and get into the bios setup? If so, see if you can load defaults and restart.

Since you've already tried the rest -- if you can't even get to the bios screen most likely you will need to return it.

    Cheers,

I don't know if it will do any good, but it's better to unplug the AC power adapter from the laptop, pull the battery out and then press and hold the reset button underneath for 15 seconds.

As a heads up, mine doesn't boot when there is ONLY 1 stick of ram in slot 2. Yours may do the same.

umm i dont know if it will work but i havent tried removing the ram slot on the bottom of the mother board(i think) i was wonderin if that was the prob becuase i removed all 3 of them above it which is easily removable and try 1 ram at a time and nothin appears anything. so.. will it be a problem is i left the ram chip below the mother board? or should i unscrew everything until that chip is removed and then try 1 by 1. oh i also try the eternal monitor idea. nothing appears. its just stops loading after the keyboard done flashing and i cant enter any menu or see anything on screen..

thanks for the help. but it cant work on mine. i havent updated my bios before this happened. and when ever i turn on my laptop it doesnt make any sound or noise. fan is running smoothly. and after the keybaord flashes abit the whole cpu stops loading. meaning nothing on screen no sound what so ever. only 3 lights litted on the top left. i did nothing somethin if i took all 3 rams slot out. it left 2 more mini icons lighted up (the cap lock and the other 1) and after a min the fans starts running faster. then thats it... nothing special. nothing fixes it either... =/

oh yeah my model is ASUS G73J

    Sorry to hear that.

Did you try pressing Enter ? after a hard boot there's normaly a 25 sec countdown when the blue drive light stops then normal start.

Also, try pressing up arrow once or twice before Enter to get into safe mode.

You can also consider hooking the laptop to a 2nd monitor during boot using HDMI cable. might work.

    good luck.

yup. i just tried. it didnt do anything jsut sitting still with those 3 lighhted icons on top. i left the cpu for about 6 hours yesterday. nothing seem to change... its like everything stops loading and never displaying anything not even a splash screen
