Hey guys I got the g73 a while back(like a month) and everything worked out of the box. Now the laptop seems to be freezing after an hour of use. Any ideas?
Battery isnt low, running the laptop wired(power). Any help is appreciated.

Have you tried restoring it back to the factory state? Have you checked temperatures? What about any PC health checks? HDD? CPU? RAM? etc.

Agreed with notyou. Best way to fix this will be restore from hidden partition or clean install of Windows.

What has changed on it? Did you update something? Do you update anything? Did you install any new applications, say like Steam perhaps? We need a little more info. :)

It could be that he's loaded down his HDD already, and now its having a hard time seeking the requested software or what not, just my two sense maybe a defrag would help ya out..... Maybe check your background processes, see whats running, you might have a ram hog like itunes.... ugh i hate itunes ( I say this from use with my P4 and 512 of ram....)

If all else fails it wouldn't hurt to run memtest either. . maybe there's an issue with a small address range on one of the chips.
With 8 gig of ram, is it really possible for ANYTHING to be a "hog"? ;)

Hello, sorry for taking too long to respond. I used the windows 7 restore to bring the laptop to a functioning state. Then a couple days later it started again. I ran virus scans, spyware all that and nothing. Then I checked the health of the laptop all good but the problem persists :S Not very happy to have problems with the laptop so suddenly. Any help would be appreciated.

bobbyjames..as i stated up there..also got into this and did a system restore...and everything was ok till yesterday....well thsi is what happened. ihadn't opened creative centre before since my last system restore..so went there yesterday and activated the sub-woofer, but it reduced the volume drastically and there started some lags..i deactivated it and did the EAX and well before i could go the next step my pc was frozen with some loud pitching noise being released...well was not bothered much..so switched it off by holding the power button down and restarted...after loggin on i tried playing music and it frooze again when i js right clicked the mp3 file...so i js decided enough is enough...uninstalled creative and and anything creative on my system..restatrted...installed the new realtek drivers(twice)..one for removing the old ones and the other to install the new ones...And so far i havent had any freezes...missing some stuffs from creative...but i think i wud stick to this for sometime till we get to fix it permanently..hope this can help ..

Gotta be careful, NBR strips "let me google this for you" and l m g t f y links unless they're embedded.

Yeah, found that out the hard way. :)
But seriously, its pissing off when people cant use google to look up simple problems and see if they can find a solution for it before starting another thread or asking in it..
