Asus g73JH-A1 PLease help me out .

Hello everyone.
I have just bought this Asus g73Jh locally and i have some questions about it that i couldn't figure reading around here and google .
Well first of all its working perfectly, i just have questions and need some hints .

What im not liking about it is its wireless connection, its "Atheros 9285" .
Is this a decent wireless adapter ?
Seems like my Dell Xps Intel 4965 ABGN is waaaay better ! IF i try is there a way i can put my xps wireless adapter on my asus and my asus on my xps ?

ON the screenshot it says its a INtel i7 Q720 1.6Ghz .
I got some questions about this .
Is it the same as the "Intel i7 720QM (1.6-2.8Ghz Turbo) ?
When i try to install Turbo Boost INtel driver and Monitor they wont install, says the computer doesnt meet the Specs .
Does my computer have the technology ?
It does have the turbo button and after i installed one of the drivers i have highlighted it installed a tool the button pop ups the Turbo mode on and off .
Should i forget about the intel Turbo boost driver and assume this asus utility is doing it ?

About the VBios and Video drivers, on the screenshot there i put the info dialogs that i could find in catalyst cp, if someone that has owns this machine for a while could tell me if my drivers for video and Vbios versions are right, please tell me, cuz on the forum post dates are old form 2010 i couldn't figure if the version i found here and there were the latest as in Nov 2011, if you know help me out please .

I also have highlighted the drivers and apps i have installed after i installed windows, and if someone that has reformatted this machine 3 or 4 tiems could tell me if i installed anything useless or recommend me install anything that yal think its useful that is not highlighted or apps that will help improve even more this laptop .

One other issue that is kind of important is, have yal compared the color balances of this computer monitor vs your desktops or a xps 1530, i really need help setting the right color settings/profile for laptop, my photos looks kinda not natural, its like i might not be able to treat photos on here till i fix this . If any of you like photography and has sdone something about it or not like photography and still have done something about it, please HELP .

Like i sayd the laptop is working perfectly if it wasn't for my 200ms latancy on League of legends that makes the purpose i bought this laptop over my xps 1530 invalid, cuz playing with the kind of connection my wireless adapter is giving me is worst the playing with low fps like my xps was giving me at least the latency was good with the xps . But then again for the price i payd for this laptop i cat complaint at all this is a desktop replacement that i can still play my games from my recliner chair and the good thing i havent experienced any of the issues i read and saw on youtube and forums threads with mousepad/powerbrick/temperatures or any what so ever, but yeah it hasnt been a week since i bought it . I guess its cuz i came with the Bios 213 version that i suppose is the latest .
Worth mentioning is ofc i use a NZXT Cryo cooling pad, but this computer generates no heat close to my Xps1530 used to when playing a game or 2 of League of legends, im really enjoying it performance and everything on it .

I had some other question but i cant think of them right now, so any tips and hints on getting this machine to its best are welcome .

THE VBIOS Version ?!?!!

 

you can't put the intel wireless 4965 ABGN on asus g73h which is mini pcie you need the half mini pcie for asus g73h.

 

Wireless adapter: only a half-height card will fit, if you want to get a new one, i suggest an Intel 6200.

CPU: The driver is for the turbo monitor, the turbo boost function will work as it should even without it. The turbo button has nothing to do with turbo boost, it raises the CPU BCLK a little, not worth it if you ask me.

Check the vbios version with GPU-Z and you definitely do not have the latest AMD drivers.

Read the Asus bloatware guide to know which app/driver does what and decide what you want to keep, there is a link to it in the sticky located in the main Asus section. I can already tell you, you have an old version of the ATK package, get the latest from Asus' support site. Keep the version of power4gear you have though.

Finally, please resize your image to comply with the forum rules. I suggest using the thumbnail like imageshack provides. It will make your post easier to read.

Can yal recommend me a nice card as good or better then my old Xps's Intel 4965 ?

I read on this forum and some reviews that some people upgraded to the Advanced-N 6200 card, is it as good or better then a Intel 4965 ?
Its kinda obvious if 6200 beeing a higher number then 4965 means its better ?
I ll get to a conclusion researching, but yals opinions will confirm or make me look at it .
If the N6200 is the best option, Ebay( This) or some store like ( This)provantage.com
Is the ebay one better wiht that WiMAx tech, or its the provantage has it too ?

So, about the cpu there is no diff between the 2 names i mention there, 720QM (Turbo 1.6-2.8Gz) is the same as Q 720 1.6 cpu right ?!
Mine is the one that will go up a down as i work harder and lighter right ?
and the computer not installing those Turbo Boost drivers i downloaded i shouldnt worry about it, its working ?!
IM gonna uninstall the atk package and the Ati video card drivers and install the asus web site ones right, they are the ones, ati.com has nothing to do with this ?

And the N wireless looks like the 6200 it is, it shouldnt be hard to change it right, should be as easy as putting a sega genesis game on the console right ?

Yes, the 1.6-2.8 mean that you'll be at 1.6GHz on 4 cores and up to 2.8GHz if you are using only one core. Look up intel turbo boost on google if you want to know how the feature works.

For the vBios, can anyone with the stock asus v93 share his revision string. The OP is not on Chastity's Bios, but he could be on Asus' updated one.

For the 6200, it's pretty much plug and play. Uninstall the drivers for your old wireless adapter, swap the adapters and install the Intel drivers.

The stock Atheros driver shipped with ASUS systems has horrible DPC Latency. If you are not running version 9.2.1.432 or later, you should upgrade.

Im gonna check that wifi out, price seems salty, i wonder if its worth it over the 6200 .. I might see if i do what dstrakele suggested and get the right drivers see if my wifi work decent with LoL, i could live with it if latency gets better ...

Im gonna check it out, my driver version is 9.2.0.427 from the "official" asus website that seems to be abandoned or some ..

 

I get my drivers from Chastity's page on the rog forums, the main asus site, not the G73 section and from AMD for the video drivers of course.

The 6300 isn't worth it if you do not want to wire a 3rd antenna. With two antennas, the 6300 will give the same performance as the 6200.

 

Thanks for all the replies, I downloaded video drivers and ATI cp from ati website and the newest version is much better to calibrate the monitor i managed to make things look like my dells monitor and i guess its how most people will see my photos after i treat them .

For now all i would still need help with is the VBIOS, still dont know if i need to do something about it . I also would like to know about the seagate firmware and "SD25/26 Windows installer" for it on chastity post .
How do i check mines version of it so i know what do i need to download there .

I find chastity post very good and useful, but sometimes i get confused with so many version of the same thing, im assuming i have downloaded all the latest drivers, but i cant seem to figure the seagate stuff, C++ silverlight.

Just got GSODs twice when trying to watch youtube videos after upgrading to ATI.com drivers . This should be cuz my VBIOS is old ?
And if it is does it mean i got 2 choices, go back to asus website drivers or flashing the bios ?

Edit:Just flashed the Vbios to the fix_od2.rar, lets see if i get greay/blue/black screens now ....
