Ever since I installed win7ultimate I've had the weirdest problem with my sound.

I have two audio devices in the windows playback devices list. If I have no headphones plugged in, one of them will only play the subwoofer, the other will play the speakers (and the subwoofer, I think...)

The problem only comes in when I plug headphones into the headphone jack. I hear audio in the headphones just fine, but the subwoofer keeps playing audio... so I can't really use headphones without interrupting people around me with annoying low-key sound.

I've circumvented the problem so far using USB headphones and disabling other audio, but if anyone knows a solution I'd love to hear it. I am able to provide any information needed for troubleshooting this.

    Thanks in advance!

This is the oldest issue involving the Realtek audio drivers, and I think I've posted a solution to this over the last 2 days about 4 times, and this will be the fifth... (please read the sticky and other posts first)

    Uninstall the Realtek Audio drivers.
    Reboot
Run Driver Sweeper 2.90 for Realtek Audio
Install your desired Realtek Driver (current is 2.59)
    Reboot

Sometimes on installation the sub gets detected as a separate speaker set, and gets it's own device in Playback Devices. There should be only one "Speakers" entry. A full cleaning of the driver install & a reinstall fixes this. Remember the reboots, it's actually important for it to work properly.

Thanks a lot for taking the time to reply.

I saw some of your other posts, but they were all slightly different descriptions, but apparently the big problem was the dual audio device.

Again, I'm terribly sorry for asking something that had already been answered and I'm really thankful for the help I received.

    Thanks.
