Fan RPM indicated by HWiNFO is where it should be at, the value reported by GPU-Z is meaningless.

When you say you cleaned the heatsinks with alcohol, you mean you disassembled, blew some canned air then cleaned with alcohol? If that's what you did, you might be in need of a repaste.

4687RPM is perfectly normal for G73 series past 84C. Since you cleaned it last night, does it still go to 96C? Also the vent should be cleaned every month. If you have a pet, it goes down to every 1-2 weeks. Pet fur is one of the biggest enemies for laptops :p.

Well, you can force the fan at 100% using R&W everything, there is a thread on that somewhere on the forum, just google force g73 fans 100% and you should stumble on it. It won't help you though, if the fan at 100% could keep the GPU cool enough, it would already do it once it hits 100%.

It won't help, 4600RPM is already close to 100% fan and yet you still hit 96C. If you are still hitting 96C after the vent is cleaned, you should try doing a repaste job.

You can use RWeverything to force fans to run at 100%, but really you should narrow down the issue instead of forcing the fans to run at 100%.

Uh, drop your overclock to start, it'll likely help as well. :p

Thermal cutoff for the GPU is either at 110C or 115C, i don't remember which.

So cleaning the vent didn't work? That 108C is after you clean the vent or before?

the temp is the same after and before cleaning , and i reset the clocks to default values @ (700/1000) , Not only that, but i decrease the deafult clocks 200Mhz per clock @(500/800),
    this image show that:

notice that the PC take a longer time than before to suddenly shutdown " about 50 min on BF3"
is this mean i have to put my clocks on 350/550 to play like people ?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

No, it means you have to repaste or have it repasted.

Totally needs a repaste, since cleaning the vent didn't work. A G73JH with a good paste job shouldn't go above 83C.

There are quite a few good choices:

Prolimatech PK-3 (11.2W/mk, less thermal resistance than PK-2.)

Prolimatech PK-2 (10.2W/mk, less thermal resistance than PK-1.)

    Prolimatech PK-1 (10.2W/mk)

    Gelid extreme (8.5W/mk)

Innovative cooling diamond 7 (4.5W/mk but thick paste, perfect for poor contact, introduce permanent scratches if repaste too many times.)

There are many more out there, but the above 5 are the ones I have tried. Prolimatech PK-3 gave me the best result on both my Asus G73JW and Clevo P150EM.

This can't be said enough times, watch the BTOTech disassembly video on youtube multiple times and take your time.

Also check the sticky at the top of the asus gaming forum, there should be links to some repaste guides in there too, those guides should help a lot as well. They cover some things more in depth.

HC-131's thermal conductivity is only 0.65W/m-K, you might want to use something better than that. If you take a look at the ones I suggested you, the lowest listed in there can deliver at least 4.5W/m-k, and the PK-3 is capable of delivering 11.2W/m-K.

To my G73JH actually, it was the first repaste i did, i got good temps, but thought i could do better so i repasted with ICD7 afterwards, also couldn't find it initially in Canada..

Arctic Cooling MX-2 is good, is capable of doing 5.6W/m-K.

Thermaltake TG-2 is one of the worst paste you can find out there, 1.5W/m-K, is only at factory stock paste's level. EVGA frostbite can do 6.5W/m-K but $15 is kinda expensive for only 2g.

However if you can find Arctic Cooling MX-2, you should be able to find Arctic Cooling MX-4 as well, which is 8.5W/m-K.
