    Hello everyone.
I just bought an Asus g73jh-a1 and i have an issue. When I play a bluray disk, after about 20-25 mins, the bluray disk drive freezes (I can hear that the disk doesnt rotate anymore) and it comes back up after about 5 mins.
I looked everywhere and this doesnt seem to be a common problem for the g73.
Anyone had this and fixed it? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

update: this happens with dvds aswell. just tested it.
update 2: it seems that dvd movies are working fine now, but I installed starcraft 2 and gta 4 and i could hear the disk stopping and the installer halted for a couple of mins at the same percentage. it seems to be occuring more rapidly with bluray movies, though (it happens in about 10 mins). this issue really makes bluray movies unwatchable...

This is very very strange. I put the bluray drive from the asus in a Sony Vaio and the Vaio bluray drive in the Asus and it works perfectly. They are made by the same manufacturer (Panasonic), but the sony one is 2 years older. Then I changed them back again, and the same thing happened on the Asus. Freezing... I don't understand this... it is just odd :/
Does anybody have any idea why this is happening? Thanks.

Try running the BR drive with the underside open and running a cooler. The drive may be overheating and shutting down.
