    Asus g73jh harddrive priblem?

    Recently i was forced to reformat due to the logo screen for win7 stuck st that point for about 5 mins long and then end up loading into the desktop once i reached the desktop i run applications without any slow only slows when i open my computer or attempt to run programs. The hddrive light is constantly on and doesnt turn off. And and i would experience random freezes too. Im currenty running a chkdsk at this moment. But from the looks of it does it look like im going to need to purchase a new hdd replacement?

    I would also run Seatools (assuming you have the original Seagate HDD) or whatever tool the drive manuf. provides on their site. If chkdsk and seatools find no issues let us know.

    @popo001: Do you experience the freezes when you're on safe mode? If you can, you may check the system logs on safe mode (right-click Computer, click manage, click Event Viewer, click Windows Logs, click System) and you might be able to pin-down what exactly is causing your issue.

    Check with SeaTools to see if there are any SMART errors being reported. If none, you may have gotten some malware, or your license for your AV software has expired. (McAfee feh!)
