I have issues with my fan this last week. I'm pretty sure it's the GPU fan and it seems to be running at full speed for some reason. I'm using the 211 bios and the latest catalyst drivers so I'm not sure what the issue is (though the fan issue has been before I updated the drivers). It's making a grinding sound that I can hear from 2 rooms over and is extremely agitating.

I was going to buy a replacement fan (2 of them anyway) but there not in stock on the asus store. I do not want to send my comp in for a RMA (can't afford it. I bought the BB model and already opened up the comp to get a rubber stopper out of one of the fans)

Sleep, hibernate whatever it always comes back on at full speed.

I even switched the CPU and GPU fans to no avail.

Is there anything I can do?

What are your temps under load and at idle?

CPU tends to be around 50 C on idle and about 57 on load
GPU tends to be about 71 on idle and 90+ on load

(On load is when I'm playing games and such right?)

You are kind of high on the GPU idle. Did you try using compressed air to clean your fans?

Yes that was the first thing I did. Didn't make a difference in the temps or the fan.

    Will changing my fans help?

I had the same issue which are gone for now after repasting GPU with IC7. Idle is now 50c - 70 under heavy load (775/1050mhz overclocked)
