I had to reformat my Asus laptop and installed a fresh version on Windows 7 64 Bit on it afterwards and installed all the newest drivers (as far as I know) and everything seems to be working as normal again.

The one problem I have is when I am playing games or sometimes not doing anything at all the computer will get up to 80 Celcius and the fans will be blowing hard and loud.

Does anyone know what I might be missing that would fix this?

    Specs:
    BIOS date: 02/10/11 ver: 04.06.03
    Intel i7-2630QM @2.00 GhZ (8cpus)
    8gb RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 460M, driver version 295.73

If more specs are needed let me know, Thanks!

Those temps sound fine to me. Mine goes even higher (88ish when OC'd on newer games). If you're worried, try blowing out your vents with compressed air - but I don't think those temps are cause for concern.

Ok I was just worried because while playing the same games previously it was much less intensive. But as long as there is no danger of damage I guess it will be fine.

    Thank you for your help.

What were your temperatures like before? Assuming you updated everything and haven't changed your clocks, your temps really shouldn't have changed much, you're right.

I honestly don't know the temperatures it was running at but I know for a fact that while playing Minecraft and Skyrim the fans did not blow nearly as hard. I never really noticed the fans before and now they seem to be blazing as soon as I start the game up.
