I will be in the market when more Sandy Bridge CPUS and the new GPU 5xx series come out for the laptops. Thing is I used to have an Asus N50VN which worked great until I started having the many problems most people had. The screen flickers and is very annoying. I even gave it away because I didn't want to use it anymore. Now I don't know if I want to go to Asus for that problem anymore so I need to ask you guys with the G series does it have screen flickers? And I mean masses. I looked at forums for my laptop version and so many people had this problem. I kind of want to go with Toshiba only because they offer 18" screens and Asus only goes to 17". Any problems with your guys Asus G series laptops? I am planning on spending $1500 max and must have 1080P resolution. My brother also has a Toshiba Satellite laptop which lasted him like 6 years and still using today. Although there are times where it wouldn't power up but fact is it still works with not many problems. I have an Asus and after one year the screen started flickering. My cousin had an Asus G series laptop as well and his overheated and ended up not powering anymore after 2 years.

I don't know after looking at a few threads on this site in the Asus Gaming Notebook. There are quite a few amount of threads that are asking for help or polls with problems leading to the Asus G series. Now I know for a fact Asus makes good products, I love their Mobos when building desktops but thing is I plan to keep laptops for about 5 years and then change them. I had to change my Asus after about a year because of the damn screen. There are people on here posting about keyboard problem, random crashes, screen flickers. Asus never even made an update to fix my problem with my laptop. I contacted them and they blamed Nvidia for the problem. But the thing is when I connect it to the tv, the tv doesn't flicker but my laptop still does. It is a screen problem for me.
Asus or Toshiba Gaming Laptop
