So I have a Asus rog g752vt and I'm just curious what heatsink I have ? Was thinking of replacing my motherboard with one of the newer CPUs and gpu as everything looks identical ..
    motherboard I was looking are
    Asus g752vm i7 6700 and 1060
    Asus g752vs i7 6820 and 1070

I'm just curious which heatsink do these models use and my motherboard the search I've done I've had problems finding part numbers I would prefer to buy Asus g752vs motherboard because it should last me quite a long time with that GPU and CPU.. my i7 and 970m still works great for gaming but I want something better if anybody can help that would be great

I'm not sure if the motherboard even fit, but the newer G752 with pascal have different heatsink to better handle the 1070 with increased TDP compared to 980M and 970M.

Highly recommend you take the 6820 and 1070 option.

A seller that I was talking to said that I need a new heatsink I already figured that they said the fans are the same and the laptop case are the same .. but the seller told me I would have to get a new AC adapter because mine does not have enough Watts something I did not think about.

So I'm guessing I'm going to replace my motherboard with the Asus g752vs i7 6820 and 1070
And heatsink and a AC adapter .. looks like everything is going to be under $600 then I will sell my motherboard heatsink and AC adapter should get some of my money back.

Hey... I did the same thing when that 15 or 20% off ebay coupon rolled around. I ordered a VS 1070 motherboard with 6820... except I had a G752VM, with the GTX 1060. I ordered a VS heatsink at the same time... but that order fell through. It was either damaged or sold to someone else. The VM heatsink has the same shape and hole pattern as the VS heatsink, but it is missing the "vapor chamber" that sits on top of the gpu/cpu and pukes the heat all around. I'm using the 180w VM power adapter, not the 230w from the VS without any problems yet. You will need a new heatsink. Where are you getting your heatsink? I want one.
There are several pics of the VS heatsink in this thread

Chinese sellar he's going to send the motherboard and heatsink by DHL shipping at least I know I'm not the only crazy person that has done that to their laptop LOL
.. yeah I figured I would have no problem using my VT AC adapter for the time being as it is 180 Watts
But I appreciate it you verified it. I attached a picture of the heatsink the Chinese seller sent me he told me he has the AC adapter to but I think I'll just wait and get that stateside.

That is a sexy heatsink. Hope all goes well. I took mine apart 10+ times playing with thermals. I went with .5mm and 1mm thermal pads by Artic for the surrounding GPU components. 1mm everywhere, and .5mm for the lowest clearance 3-4inch strip... you'll see when you get it... but my heatsink is a different model. The thing is a pain to take apart and put back together. It has multiple loose flat ribbon cables that you have to slot back into place every time. I do recommend that you cover the metal U shaped keyboard deck standoffs from the keyboard/palm rest deck that make direct contact with the motherboard with masking/blue/green tape. You might be there a minute with the keyboard/palm rest in the wrong position as you slot in the multiple flat ribbon cables and you don't want the metal U shaped standoff feet to short or damage anything. Here are pics for the G752VM heatsink, dropping them here before I delete them.

    Hello,

I was wondering if you had any feedback from the MB swap.
I'm looking to do the same thing and put a G752VY Motherboard in my G752VT (which had MB failure).
Chinese Sellar on Ebay says that the VY motherboard is not compatible with the VT power board.

Did you have to change any other part than the Heatrsink from VT to VS and did it work? :)
