Hi guys, I have the G73Jh. I have some problems with the Wifi Network card I think. I have some freeze ups and one reboot while using VUSE (torrent program) I also just noticed my curser is jerking all around while uploading a 600mb file to youtube. I have driver version 8.0.0.316 from 3/2/2010

I have had the laptop 2 weeks. ASUS live update says everything is up to date. :mad2:

I am getting good benchmarks with speed tests so I dont know whats up.

I cannot help, unfortunately, but I can tell you that I've heard the ASUS live update is garbage. Also, how have you had a JH for 2 weeks..? Unless it's refurbished or you got it on Ebay.

Yes I bought it used off anandtechs forums. Maybe I will just uninstall the driver and see what happens. Uploading seems to trigger the problem. Yeah I read the updater is crap.

great link, thanks this helps me understand what all the programs on here are without having to click and run them all.

I uninstalled the wifi driver and let it reinstall on startup and all seems well with my uploads. I still need to try VUSE again.

thanks guys. Great site here and I still need to do allot of reading.

Thanks again. I installed them the old fashioned way. I forced windows to install. Windows told me I already had a good driver installed. These drivers are also not digitally signed.

Thanks again guys. What a great forum and a great laptop. This is the best I have ever owned. :p

That site is well designed to get you to click on what you don't want! Follow the link from post #8. Click on AR9285 under atheros wireless drivers. Next page scroll to the bottom and find AR9285 then click on the check mark under Win7 64 (Last column). The first driver on the next page is 9.2.0.113. Click on the button at the bottom of this box that says "Click For Download". The next page will take a little while, but your zip file will pop-up along with the magic SAVE button.

Your cursor jerking around when uploading on youtube have nothing to do with the Wireless Drivers. The reboot/freeze up is probably a problem with VUSE, try using uTorrent instead. Or turn off Automatic Restart on BSOD to see what the problem is.

Install via Device Manager. Point it to the extracted folder, and it will do the rest.
