Just post here what you do keep your latency from spiking.

I'm running Atheros 9.2.0.427 WHQL driver that I found on Station Driver.
    Atheros & Zidas drivers
    Zippyshare.com - atheros_wifi_9.2.0.427-w7(www.station-drivers.com).exe

And I'm running the Wireless Console 3 latest from Asus.
ASUSTeK Computer Inc. -Support- Drivers and Download Wireless_Console
    http://www14.zippyshare.com/v/61046933/file.html

Not sure why, I seem to be getting better latency than before. It's staying under 384us on DPCLatency, and usually around 250us.

What do you do to keep your Atheros for acting like a brat?

I know u probably dont want to here this, but i just upgaded the atheros chip to the intel 6300. The intel chip is so much faster. I also have a dual band router so being on the 5ghz band alone i think also helps. for $30, i would recomend this for anyone.

    In fact I do the same. I've just ordered an Intel® Centrino® Ultimate-N 6300 Wi-Fi adapter.
Atheros could have been good if ASUS has installed the right one.
A friend of mine came at home with his C90S, and I was very surprised when I saw it get the 5Ghz wifi n from my Netgear router. (I had a C90S till last year :( ).
That's why I decided to go to the 6300.

Have to agree with the fella's above the Atheros Adaptor's are nothing but hassle, dropping, disconnecting and even randomly deciding not to work at all and have to completely reinstall the drivers.

Since upgrading to the Intel 6200 had no problems at all and much better reception. So I would assume the 6300 will do the job even better.

Think it cost me $10 from Ebay. Bargain.

If I upgrade my G53 to intel 6300 card, will I loose my Bluetooth function as well? If that is the case, then I should probably go for the 6230 right?

I dont know much about the innards of the g53, but the G73 has a separate Bluetooth card in it, it's not built on to the wifi card.

Spiritus777 - you will not lose Bluetooth function if you install the 6300. The BT and wifi are separate. I just upgrade mine to the Intel 6205, which doesn't have BT and everything is working fine.

Nice, thanks. What's a good place to order a legit one? I know people are selling counterfeits on ebay.

What do you mean by that? What's the difference between BT and internal BT? I'm assuming internal BT is what I currently have.
