    Does asus make an ati card that would fit in my g50v? I'm looking for an upgrade and I like ati

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but in a G50V, you can't upgrade from a 9700m.
    in a G50VT you can have a 9800GS or upgrade to a 260m, perhaps able to downgrade to the slower 9700m as well. Compatibility has to do with getting the compatibile heatsink and BIOS issues.

    Something to do with 9700m has it's own BIOS, but 9800gs and 260m don't and the G50V(non-T) needs a vga BIOS but the G50VT doesn't require one?


    No ATI video cards were ever issued to the G50V series.

    EDIT: Poor choice of words. I am certain that no ATI video cards were ever assembled by Asus into the G50v Series, and I am ~95.5% certain that nobody has ever successfully upgraded a G50(non-T) above a 9700m.
