Yeah, probably the last time I deal with sending something off to repair through Best Buy again, especially after they screwed over my Asus G1s with a slower hard drive, but that's a rant I was through with forever ago. Anyway! My G73jh got a fried motherboard shortly after the primary hard drive controller went out, so since it was still under warranty through Best Buy, I decided to send it off with them. 2 and a half weeks later, I finally got it back (about a week ago).

Now, the fun stuff. Along with the new motherboard, they gave me a new keyboard (cool I guess since the original was warped, but this one is gloss black when the original was matte) and replaced some wires that didn't really need replacing. That's about all the positives I can think of. Sounds good since they replaced what I wanted them to replace, right? Except for all of the things they screwed up forcing me to RMA it again, which I'll get around to when I have time.

Of the three 2GB sticks of RAM, one is shorted out, and every now and then it conflicts with one of the others causing my RAM to be between 2 and 4GB, depending on what mood it's in I guess. My optical drive no longer functions properly, it makes clicking noises and stops reading after a few minutes. And although minor, the blue light bar at the back of the monitor housing no longer works. My receipt thingy says the computer passed all hardware tests. EDIT: Oh yeah, and the right fan makes funny noises when up to speed now.

I suppose I should be lucky that they even covered the motherboard under warranty since I've already opened the computer numerous times (last time being months prior to the hard drive controller going out, mind you), no sub woofer inside as I removed it for it was malfunctioning, and repasting the GPU a few times, but it most certainly should not have come back with parts broken that weren't originally.

Sorry for the rant, but that's the last time I use BB's Geek Squad for anything. Can't wait to get off work from this boat to play with the Sager NP9170 waiting for me at my house. Ordered it the day my G73's motherboard suicided. :D~
