Has any one used Best buy geek squad service for there warranty yet?

I just wondering how well they do..

I had 1 of my main fans go bad. The bearings failed.
The BB store could not fix it, they had to ship to another Geek Squad place for the work t be done.

I just hope they did not mess anything else up...

It shipped back to the store, I hope to see late this week.

I've found that Geek Squad in general, from my own experience of course, is absolute garbage. Their warranty is soooo not worth it. Depends on the specific store really, I've heard some people come out with glowing experiences but I've heard so much more bad and I've personally experienced lots of bad with other laptops, I wouldn't even let them near my G73 with a 1000 foot pole.

Well I am only using the 1 year warranty with them that was part of deal.

I did not buy any extra service.

But I was told I had to use Best buy geek squad for all warranty service.
    Is this wrong?

Now if the lap top comes back fixed with no scratches, dent or other issues, I wil be very happy. Oh and if they fixed the bad fan bearing...

Well I had the 3 year warranty on my 6860fx from best buy and now that it is dead over 2 years later they are going to give me $1349 in best buy credit to pick out a new laptop. I am thinking about the g73 but I am waiting to see if they will get a JW model. I will be getting another warranty on the model I choose so in a few years when it is dead it is still worth full price to best buy. I also sent my 6860 in before to have the GPU fan replaced and had no problems.

Best buy is authorized to do Asus warranty work and if you bought your Asus from Best Buy, Asus will refer you to Best Buy for your warranty work. My first G73 lost it's keyboard lights due to a bad bios flash and I took it in to Best Buy after being told to do so by Asus. The unit was scratched on the top when the Geek Squad tech flipped it over to verify the serial number. I watched him do it and made him note it on the work order. After 30 days, Best Buy deemed the unit unrepairable and issued me a store credit for the purchase price which I promptly used to buy another G73. This happened at the same time that Asus service was fixing keyboard lights, but the Geek Squad didn't have a clue. Seems that if you bought it there you are stuck with their work. Good luck!

I am ok with being stuck with them..

After the warrany is over, I will just do the work my self when possible.
