I'm wondering if there are any significant fixes in this BIOS, and if it's worth upgrading to?

It has the adjusted settings for the PS/2 devices (keyboard and trackpad) to alleviate lag and other issues.

If you touchpad doesn't crap out and your keyboard doesn't drop keystrokes, then you don't need to update to BIOS 213.

My thought exactly. BIOS update is pretty much the most risky thing to do on the G73 and i'd stay away from that.

So how risky is it? Because my gf's G73 got touchpad fails, like alot of silly stuff going with the touchpad, not 100% function. Get's sticky mouse, stuck.

put the BIOS ROM on a usb stick formatted for FAT32, and reboot, hit F2 during POST, and go into the BIOS. Run Easy BIOS Flash (Advanced Tab) and load the ROM file from the USB stick. DO NOT LOAD FROM HDD. Follow the prompts and you are done.

QFT. Seriously this is the way to avoid headaches, I've only seen a few reports of bad flashes using this method and they probably did a quick format.

Chastity also provides hashes for the ROM files (on the app reference page) so you can be extra sure the file on your USB stick is good.

Of course if you have no reason to upgrade the BIOS, or are uncomfortable with the concept, do not do it.

I'm just telling people the most safe way. I myself of course installs the latest BIOS and vBIOS along with drivers as soon as I see a new one out :D
