I was trying to do a clean install of windows ultimate on my SSD. I installed the SSD and removed the HDD, then I inserted the windows ultimate cd but halfway through the installation process, it gave me an error saying files were missing/corrupted.

I turned off my laptop and rebooted with a different cd and it gave me the bootmgr is missing message. It doesn't matter what cd I put in now, it gives me the same message.

    Can someone help me?

You probably need to get your hands on a new windows 7 CD or installer image.

Windows isn't even installed fully on the machine. You need a good installation disc/image.

Need a DVD of WIndows 7, and then choose Repair your computer, nor Install now. Good Luck.

From his description it seems Windows didn't install correctly, I wouldn't expect Repair or FIXMBR to work. As ALLurGroceries suggests reinstall Win7 with a new DVD, just make sure to format or repartition prior to install.

Nope, just using the install disc and the recovery manager (off the disk) will allow you to fix the mbr.
