i bought a Asus G74S notebook a few hours ago in Tucson Az, (im from Mexico) so basically when i arrived home (Mexico) i conected the laptop and bumm... the display stays in black screen...

already tried the battery removal thingy...

I actually plugged the HDMI to my TV and it works... but still now signal to the LAPTOP“s Display... any idea of how to fix this? or i need to go to Az again to take it back to best buy?

Is it ALWAYS black? No matter the angle? It might be the LCD Cable (LVDS I believe) loose.

Hey guys thanks for the quick responses

@CrappyAlloy: Yeah... ALWAYS BLACK... i remember the first time that i turned it on, i hit the FN + F6 and it turned on but with no images... just an "Electrical Grey"

@JOSEA: Well... Tucson is 3 hrs from here i rather take it back but its good to know incase they dont change it... just a question... doing that avoids the warranty?

@Trazzm: Yeap... tried eeeeverything... all the FN + keys... when i plugged te HDMI and it was displaying on the TV, i hit the FN + F7 to change to LAPTOP LCD and it only gave me the option HDMI.... says anything to you?

Thanks guys! more suggestions are welcome!

Well, like the first two said, it sounds like the display connector worked itself loose during transit.

No it will not void the warranty if you just remove sections that regard the LCD panel and repair/fix the LVDS cable yourself. The only major warranty voider is messing with the CPU.

oh well... Hmmm i'll go back to Arizona this Saturday... i'll just change it for a new one. Rather doing that, that messing with it... kinda expensive to do something wrong heh

Thanks for your advice anyway... i really appreciate it! let you know what happen next.
