    I have a G73-JH with a 5870m.

When I install Catalyst 11.9, I get a blue screen of death complaining about atikmpag.sys. When I reboot the computer, it resets to a very low resolution and I have to rollback the graphic driver to the default so I can change it back to the native resolution.

I've also tried Catalyst 11.10 Version 3 with the same problem. I have Chastity's vBios and Bios 213 installed.

Does anyone know what I am doing wrong here?

Not sure what you are doing wrong.

But I can assure you, 11.9 nor 11.10 Preview drivers cause BSOD. It's not an issue with the vBios or Bios.

AMD has already stated that the 11.10 Preview 3 drivers are the ones that will be WHQL certified. The drivers are no the cause of your BSOD, you are the cause of the BSOD. Something you did wrong.

Try rolling back to the last time it was stable, before you messed it up. You should have a few restore points saved.

Just read another thread of yours having problems with OverDrive...

I wonder when you flashed your vBios, you did it wrong...

Probably not a BIOS/vBIOS issue, but I'd recommend running DriverSweeper to completely remove ATI drivers then install the updated drivers from scratch.

So, uninstall, remove traces via driversweeper, then reboot, and install the latest drivers.

I didn't do it wrong. GPUz detected the core was underclocked during idle, which means that I loaded Chastity's vBios correctly. I was having the same problem with Gary's vBios.

The only thing I haven't done is reinstall Windows 7.

I think i get BSOD with one of the beta drivers. Thats partly why i am waiting for the full version of 11.10 before i upgrade from the flickering 11.7.

I reinstalled Windows 7 without the bloatware and now I can use Catalyst 11.10 V3 without BSOD!
