Anyone else dealing with slow load times on BFBC2? Takes me about 60-70 seconds to load a map on mulitplayer.

    ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5870 1GB GDDR5

If you're still using 10.4 catalyst, then you'll experience slow load times. this has been addressed by ati and can be fixed by updating the catalyst drivers.

There was a DX10 load time issue with ATI cards on older drivers. Its been fixed since like 10.6 or something (forget the actual release but its been awhile)

This issue was no vbios related but driver related.

I had it and updated my drivers to fix it. I have never updated the vbios.

Its a well documented issue with all ATI cards on the older drivers.

When you update your bios/vbios maybe your drivers reset. As said, this issue IS NOT A BIOS, VBIOS ISSUE. Repeat, IS NOT RELATED TO BIOS VBIOS.

The driver fixed worked on the very first bios and vbios that the G73jh came with. And in fact many users have no updated to the latest vbios, bios and run BC2 fine.

But glad you got yours fixed.

For others who may read this. SSD has ZERO impact on load times with BC2. In fact many of us on Teamspeak were commenting on our 7200 speed drives we had faster load times than some we knew with SSD. SSD really only has any impact on load times or large file transfers. That's about it, it has no impact on gaming performance or map loading.

Yeah I noticed even with my 5400rpm drive I get into the server before most of the team on BC2. The load times on stock drivers were horrible though.
