Hello there;
I just got my machine back from RMA; I'm happy to say everything went smooth.
But, I noticed something strange that I'm wondering if it's a general "issue" or just me.
After installing everything on it - Chastity, give us some kind of acces to your reference guide! Damn RoG forums! -, I close the lid because I'm moving from my room to the living room to watch Clerks II.
Suddenly, as the lid comes close to the palm rest, the laptop screams!!! It let's out a wail, as if some banshee living inside of it was in pain! Howling, maddening, purgatorial pain! The kind of stuff that nightmares are woven from.
Impulsively, I opened the lid back, and the noise went away.
Stunned, but still curious, I began closing the lid again, slowly, watching, carefuly, tenderly... kind of like the first time you make love. And as expected, the closer the lid got to the palm rest, the wail came back. First a small high pitched whisper that as the lid touched the palm rest area turned into an all-out, high pitched howling... kind of like the first time you make love.
Obviously, it sounded a bit like speaker feedback; so I went in to the Creative Console Launcher - I installed the X-Fi MB, and yes, I did pay my $19.99 license- and in the mixer turned the microphone all the way down.
Lo and behold, the wail is gone when I shut the lid, and there's only silence... kind of like... uh... I dunno... love making is always noisy when I'm involved.
So! Has anyone experienced this? Uh... I mean the feedback, not the... uh... yeah.
Is it because of the mic on the top of the display lid? Is it really that sensitive - pun intended -?
-
It did with mine.
Its the magnet that holds the lid shut. Sort of dumb place to put the mic, if you ask me.
Its been so long since i solved it but i turned down the microphone sensitivity in windows 7. Every thing is fine now mice works normal and what not. -
nice one!
my neighbors would be ready to pay a yearly $19.90 license to have quieter nights... -
lol! Finally someone with proper grammar and great story telling techniques. At least it's fixed!
