Hey guys! I didn't test it yet on my G73JH but I will really soon! I will make videos and stuff... But right now I wanted to tell you I'm running everything on ultra settings with my gtx 570 at 1080p with AAx4 and AFx16 and I even recording at 60 with fraps!
I guess the game will be pretty playable on high settings on the g73![]()

Hi guys,
Blackluc and AMRAAM Missiles, can you PLEASE post videos of the battlefield 3 beta the asus notebooks that you have with frame per second ? i ordered my asus g74sx 4 days ago i hope it will come soon enough for the public beta but i'm scared that it won't work very well :s and i searched everywhere on youtube NOBODY posted videos of the beta in their laptops only desktops. I would appreciate it very much guys thx -
Yes that's what I said, I will be doing videos
Just let me enjoy it a little bit and then get it installed on my laptop too -

Hey Blackluc, what is your Origin ID? we can play together i think
-
Yeah, post your IDs, I just got the beta as well. [email protected] is my Origin ID.
-
For me the beta runs like crap on my laptop. Medium settings = 30fps avg. And lots of artifacts. I've tried both the 11.8 and the 11.10 preview meant for BF3. Same results with both drivers. All other games run smooth as silk. I blame it all on this being a beta.
-
BTW my ID is.... Blackluc -
If ATI drivers fail with BC3 I am going to be majorly fed up and probably sell my laptop. I do not want to have to buy this for Xbox just because ATI cannot release a proper driver update its pathetic!
-
That's why I love my desktop with an nvidia card now.... Also I bought the Gears of War 3 xbox last week for the game, but hell... games look HORRIBLE on consoles
-
Yup the Xbox is aged now it was released the same time I had a new 8700M GT SLI for crying out loud bout time Microsoft stopped bleeding it dry and brought out a tesselation console.
Even so ATI have no excuse and my 5870M should compete easily with the good performance that Nvidia are seeing I seem to remember that DICE programmed BFBC2 with ATI graphics what happened with BC3? -
Using the overall setting set to medium, I'm getting 30-40 fps. But there is significant flickering in the background, and on a few occasions the whole screen was very very dark. The 11.10 mobility mod driver is a fail for this game. I hear 11.9 will be officially released tomorrow. I'll give that one a try.
But so far I'm not too impressed. I'm sure they will work it out before the official release. -

I had my games.
can't run on FULL HD For sure beacuse the beta locked the setting to highest
1600x900 = Quite playable, (outside =30 FPS, inside = 50)
1280x768 = Extremely Playable, ( Outside 35 FPS , inside = 60)
But the game crashes a lot, and game loaded with Snipers. -
So how come everyone is on this BETA then what did I miss to not get it
-
Hello again everyone!
Okay so I searched for 6 freakin' hours all details concerning the performances of recent mobile GPUs on battlefield 3 and it looks pretty goooooooodunfortunatly for those who might be interested in the nvidia M cards ( yeah okay just me ... ) there are not that many information BUT for the radeon cards it seems that the game is running pretty smooth. 6990M have a steady 70 fps on high details at 1920x1080 and around 45 fps on ultra, for the 6870M cards you have to cut about 10-15 fps from the performances below and the 5870, everything on high, at 1920x1080, you get about 45-50, which still is amazingly good for a laptop, so possesors of g73jh, you're good !
Still, PLEASE, i'm still looking for someone who may have a nvidia GTX 460M, preferably a GTX 560M, and post us some tests and frames per second of the beta, it will be much much appreciated.
OH and for those who have ati cards, there are also bf3 drivers specially made, version 11.10, here's the link picked from the forum :

I'm getting some graphical flickering when I look at some objects in BF3.. and is using 285.38 on my GTX460M!! Not sure what went wrong but anyone that use the driver 285.38 are also getting some graphical flickerings?

I even recorded a short video of BF3 at 60 FPS with FRAPS in 1280x768
Here is several Screeny:
I was having trouble when playing in 1600x900 because low FPS. But when i turned back in 1280x768, i got a nice frame rate and then it was a good time with the M4A1 Carbine.
-
The game isn't running bad at all with the nvidia beta drivers...but then again im using my desktop so I'm running this absolutely maxed at 90-120fps. I haven't bothered trying it on my AW.
...since I'm here, I may give it a quick test-run on my G73 (which has been collecting dust...) with the preview 11.10. Not getting my hopes up at all though. Maybe 30-40fps at best on medium.
Will report back with screenies and possibly a vid. -

73jh here and getting message 11.6 isnt supported need minimal 11.7.
11.8 wont install after a cleansweep ( hanging on driver ). It looks like
amd doesnt have a mobility 11.7 available?
I think the previous 11.7 on amd is desktop only. Anyone know for sure? -

Anyone played the beta on a G74? Can you please report performance!
Custom Resultion that I will be testing with the beta (on my g74) 1504x846. Tried it on Bad Company 2 and it is a great balance between resolution and performance!
This might not be the right thread, but BF3 is basically the only game ill be playing for quite some time, so here goes... - Does anyone have a custom resolution for their G74 that works fine? Above 720, and below 1080 ?
Beta tomorrow! -
How does one get Beta please
-
-
-
I can't even get past Battlelog. =/
-
nope no keys left, had to give one extra away because it seems people in my country did not get keys for moh le
ea support says no keys left, did not know they could run out of keys lol -

Gtx460m users:
285.38 beta
All high settings, no AA, no post-AA, blur on,16xAf,no SSAO,1080p:
28-34 outside, 35-46 inside.
Step down to 900p, there's a gain about 2fps.
Step down to 768p, there's a gain about 5fps.
At 768p is even possible to run it at ultra while keeping roughly same performance as high/1080p settings posted above.
If the final game/new drivers will be more polished than this definitely were able to play the game without troubles.
Anyway even at low the game looks gorgeous! -
-
By the way my Origin ID is Hawkhacker
Add me if you want!
-
seems playable on low, but dropping 20-25fps when shooting(30-40fps when not) , could be cpu limited, only running 3ghz dualie
-
-
hmmm yeah game not maxing the cpu, even clocked the card at 600/900
-
To be honest 30-40fps on the 260M GTX is pretty good to be honest and this is still BETA.

Kingpinzero ROUND ONE,FIGHT! You Win!
Gtx260m as well as my previous Sli 9800m gtx have a good reason to stay competitive even know: 256bit bus.
Anyway dual core is still the minimum requirement, the game should e playable but the sudden fps drop it's a sign that a quad is needed.
Frostbite engine uses 4 cores; 1 for Physics calculations, one for data, one for sound engine and one for general processing. -
Good to know about the CPU hoping my XM should tear it up. +1 -
just tried it on my laptop, here is my quick test Battlefield 3 Asus GJ73JH gaming laptop QUICK TEST - YouTube

Major improvements for me today. First I performed a update and tonight
I could connect without issue.
No dropped connections in 3 hrs of play. Much smoother gameplay in
general. -
Are they still doing that deal where you get Dead Space 2 free with the preorder?
-
Not sure, but I asked for mine and got it. I pre ordered the game a few weeks ago.
-
Cool, I'll ask and see thought maybe someone had reserved recently and got it.

Head up JH users and other ATI Users.
ATI released 11.9 Driver.
The release log have nothing related to BF3, i will try it.
-
yes the new 11.9 whql certified driver version is dated 6 sept
-
Haven't had a chance to run it on mine but my brother ran alpha on his G73JH highest settings with no problems, I'm assuming there's a graphic difference between the alpha and beta right?
-
Is there anyway to boost the fps? Thats even worse than BC2 and it didnt look as good as BC2 either.
