Battlefield plays great on my sw, playable framerate but not professionally competitive at 1080p

30-60fps 1080p ultra settings no AA

But ruined Gameplay with horrible Crash to desktop bug.... I contacted EA support a few times, and its to the point where its just friggin hillarious and thought i'd show you folks the solutions they have givin me.

This Chat log was from yesterday, and this one is from today...... EVEN BETTER Responses.

Ok So i've gotten fed up with EA Support, they won't admit fault and they use generated messages stating go ask someone else as seen in the last comment.... So, Does anyone know what the problem is?

    Probably just server issues then.

I wouldn't sweat it. Just like people complaining about stuttering on BC2 all the time, thinking it's a software or hardware issue. All it was every time, a server update causing it.

Don't understestimate how often game servers crash, update and the cause of issues.

Jbmeth007, you may want to edit out your email address.

wow i didn't think people really called those support numbers on the side of the box. let me ask you did you get a person in India?

I am sure they got top people working on this problem right now, TOP PEOPLE!!! LOL-

Acutally my email address is edited out.. its not really justinxxxxxxx the x's are arbituary.. meaning nothing.. lol

Yep crashes on a server or or campaign mode, both online and offline modes with network disconnected....

its unrelated to punkbuster or network traffic. Gaurenteed crash no matter the system or way to install it....

I'm trying to get them to admit theres a bug in the software, but they won't budge...

I do know and read a case where they are releasing back to karkand on the 25th and a patch for bf3 the same day.

    @ Jbmeth007

You mentioned editing the registry to get the TM out, have you also made sure that the Battlefield 3 folder does not have a TM at the end of it too?

If it has a TM at the end of the folder, remove it.

Its Battlefield 3. i had to edit the tm out of the name and registry to get the game to even launch....

The game launchs fine.. it just crashes during gameplay back to desktop like closing the program, except theres no curser, and the game seems still open by the running programs at bottem of screen.

you have to crtl+alt+del and close the program to restart it

I know some one else who had the crash to desktop problem and they fixed it by removing the TM from the folder but they did not do anything to the Registry at all.

alright i've uninstalled orgin and bf3....

reinstalled orgin from thier website, not from my disks. and reinstalled BF3 from the cloud install.

played for a few hours no crash, i forgot when you reinstall you loose settings and save games cause i told it to get rid of them..

all the settings were on auto. no crashes... so i changed in game to ultra settings hbao and turn off alaising on post and standard. game didn't crash yet.. but tomorrow is another day.. i'm sure it will crash...

and btw installing via cloud in orgin doesn't require you to change the registry or the TM from the battlefield 3 folder.. it puts it in a different folder under \Program Files (x86)\orgin games\battlefield3

I use to got crash when i first install the game , but it seem that i do not have them anymore ...

I'm 90% sure that thoses crashes are cause by some kind of DRM or something that check if you're online or not , and when " something " block it for a few sec / ms , the game just close itself. That's the only reason EA is not giving us detail " SORRY , THE GAME CRASHES BECAUSE WE PUT SPYWARE AND ANTICOPY PROTECTION IN IT , YOU BUY THE GAME WE SCREW YOU " , something like that ...

That may be a true theory, but the game would crash regardless if playing online or in offline mode, meaning no connection to any servers... Off the network... Stand alone. Solo, no internet, no wifi, no 3g or 4g or GSM or CDMA.. no walky talkies. Still Crash to desktop without error or curser.
