Any ideas on how well G53/73 will run BF3? Or better yet, has anyone out there ran Alpha release on a G53/73?
From what I've read (much of it speculation only), it looks like performance will be similar to BFBC2.
Opinions? Experience?...

everyone seems crazy about BF3
I will use a different approach this time
take a read here and have fun.
BF3 Alpha user's opinions and speculation and everything else -
You will get several different responses to this here are a couple...
1. It wont even run at all on a G73 it will burn out your laptop and you will/must/have to buy an Alienware. Hate, Hate, Hate..
2. It will probably being somewhere around medium, maybe low at 1080p. Actually maybe high at 900p, but Ati is better than Nvidia isn't it? no it is not, yes it is... No way it will run better on Nvidia, no it wont. yes it will.....etc etc
..and my own personal response.
3. It will run. -

If you're interested in the performance of bf3 alpha with my g53sw in sig, check the thread in this section of the forum called "who got battlefield alpha 3?".
It's an alpha but the results since I was in the alpha are pretty encouraging...and I had a blast with it.
Played totally with my g53sw.
If the premises are the same as the unoptimized buggy alpha, the final game will just run without problems.
Specially because bfbc2 maxed out in dx11 (just no AA, but everything else is maxed like 16xAf) @ 1080p delivers stable 40-45 fps (lowest 36, highest 62). -
Sweet!! Most of the rumors and speculation I'd read have said pretty much what you did. Jump in graphics from BFBC2 to BF3 vs hardware requirements seemed almost too good to be true.
