    Here it is.
A modded inf with a twist: it supports g53 gtx460m but is softmodded to show it as gtx560m.
Just a string edit, nothing else, for fun.
    Its attached.

Why would you need modded files if it works already? I installed the VERDE 285.38 beta just fine on my 460m 1 gig. Im a little confused.

No need to be confused. G53SW have a different dev-id board, thats all. We dont need to repeat ourselves so much, aint we.
To be exact, g53sw dev id is 2047, where g73 is 2046. Also all the others from 2043-44-45 are included in the official verde package.

Asus specifically asked to remove that dev id in the verde notebook with the intent to release their custom drivers, things that obviously failed hard.
Ive written g73 as well althought i was wrong on the SW part because some JW users have the same dev id as well. Its a mess.

Oh wow I didnt know all that. It seems Asus really needs to sort all that out. Thanks for the explanation! Is it just me or do other people also see performance increases with these new drivers on bad company 2?

uncompress the driver package using WinRAR or 7zip, and then copy the new inf to the Display Driver folder. (You'll see a matching file with the same name there) Copy over it, and then run the installer. And eat a fig.

I downloaded the 285.38 notebook driver (150MB). I could not install it cuz it said no compatible driver found. Where can i get a modified inf (showing it as a gtx460m) for my g53jw? Any help please. I uninstalled the old 285.27 driver and used driver sweep in safe mode. Then tried installing 285.38 but it won't install.

EDIT: This time downloaded the 32 bit version instead of the 64bit one. God. Kill me please.

Thanks, Chastity! I've been wrangling with this for a couple of hours, trying to do the mod myself, but kept getting conflicting instructions. Will try your download tomorrow.

Okay, I tried to update the GPU driver from 270.61 to 285.38 with the modded pack I downloaded, but still gives me a "failed to install" message. I tried to switch the "nvam" inf file with the orignal and that did not work. Has anyone had a similar problem or solution? Will I have to rewrite the driver hardware id to accomodate the driver upgrade, since Asus seems to be behind in updating their drivers for the GPU. Looking forward to Battlefield 3, but I want to have the optimal experience from the game. Or do I have to wait around for Asus to step up to the plate. Is there something I'm doing wrong?

I would uninstall your NVIDIA drivers first, reboot, then run Driver Sweeper 3.2.0. Then install the 285.38 mod pack.

Okay, after following step-by-step directions from the other posts. The Nvidia driver will still not install. i have done everything short of wiping my harddrive to install this video driver. I think the main problem is that Asus still hasn't upload the OEM drivers in over a year. I am highly disappointed. Also I haven't found anyone who has created a modified version which will work. And now, there is version 285.62, and I can't install that one either. I suppose i will have to write the code, and post it here. I have a Asus G53JW-A1 and I keep getting a "failed to install" message. I have updated the Bios from Chastity's ROG reference list and I have even used driver sweeper 3.2, and totally uninstalled the GPU and the drivers, and still get the same thing. I tried Kingpinzero's modded .inf, and that didn't work. I think Asus has dropped the ball totally on this issue. Any suggestions short of me taking the time to rewrite my own driver? It's very frustrating. I just want to play BF3 without issue.
